I am not a fan of all these AI fad. I don't see it as progress. Very much prone to manipulation and abuse.

Every technological advancement has always been viewed as a fad by nay sayers. Until they eventually agree that it’s the future.

I remember when banks were switching from paper ledgers to automated/computerised banking. People said it was a fad.


Electronic payments? That too was seen as a fad

The Universe is guided by laws so AI should be guided by laws and codes.

When I first read about vibe coding I'd been wondering if I can trust an AI tool to do complete coding for me, esp considering the little nasty experience I've had with the little code generated for me that I still needed to tweak before it worked properly

And at first it was even difficult to dictate what was wrong. The issue was very subtle that you'll easily think there's nothing wrong and be confused why it's not working

It is difficult to detect. And like you said, the difference is subtle.

I advise all to go and watch THE 100 and get a glimpse of what AI pose to the future of humanity. It's just a film but I have a strong feeling that, that's what is going to happen in the future or something close or worse.

Some of those films are not just films.

They are prophetic so to say and are actually telling us what can and will most likely happen in near future.

Just imagine an Ai powered Aircraft that just decided to crash just for the fun of it and when the black box is found, Ai telling everyone it was just cashing some fun while 200+ people perish. Ai powered medical Robot just removing vital organs for fun. Ai powered Restaurant Robots adding flavored sniper on people's food for fun. We nova shi sumshin oh

You see why I always tell upcoming devs (including myself) to try at least know the basics of software engineering before vibecoding or outsourcing core technical skills to AI. If the AI senses you don't really know what you are doing, its garbage in garbage out from there on out.

AI is only good for research. It's not good to be used "copy and paste" as is, else it would mislead you, indoctrinate you, lie to you..... even disgrace you.

Just last week I asked AI a question but it gave me a wrong information. I told it that the information was wrong and corrected it. It went like "you're right" before providing the correct answer. Imagine that I didn't know what I was doing.

Despite the A.I buzz flying around, I can never give full control of my codebase to any A.I.

Just recently, a colleague of mine used Cursor to debug a product, and just let Cursor do its thing, we are still debugging several rubbish now, and may likely revert back to the last known stable version.

The best I can do would be to share a file with it, and then scrutinise the changes it would make to that file, because I have seen that you once you give them full control, you as the engineer would do twice the amount of work you should have done.

This is a very serious issue right here. Imagine losing your entire database, I just hope the have a backup somewhere.

People stilll don’t know the capabilities of that tech.

They thought Elon was joking when he said we moving into a universal wage system. It will take many jobs and the winners will be the rich who control these business empires.

SalesForce CEO did not deny it in his last interview. He said junior and mid level jobs will be hit hard.

It has not even peaked and still learning. In most of these big multinationals, they al ready have it learning and when they get to perfection, they start cutting jobs.

Microsoft recorded profit and still layoff thousands with the excuse of maximizing profit.

AI will kill many things and front runners are not even hiding it.

How I wish Nigeria banks, cbn inclusive could use this AI in their banking software so that it can go rogue and transfer monies to all users.

Never heard of it. However though, AI is a computer program that learns, it is prune to error but gets better with time. The developers should fine tune their models and upgrade it cos this is an interesting solution.

All the companies trying to switch to AI so as to cut costs and undermining human intelligence will have their businesses collapsing very soon. One AI error is all it takes to destroy their business, they will learn the hard way...

Microsoft said a week ago that 35% of new software it developed recently was done 100% by AI.

So, it's only gonna get harder for software developers to compete with AI or keep their jobs as AI keeps iterating with new data fed into it.

Imagine an AI model trained with all Medical literature and billions of hours of human medical practice experience in diagnosis etc. No human Doctor can compete with such a model and this is true of any field of human endeavour.

The next 18 months to 3 years are going to be quite interesting especially in the jobs / unemployment market.
