One of the indirect benefits of this war to the West is that it hastened their switch from Russian gas to free renewable power sources such as wind, solar and hydropower.

In 2024 Spain and Portugal generated over 70% of their electricity from Wind and Solar.
England generated up to 40% from renewable sources
Germany generated up to 45% from renewable sources with plan for 100% by 2030
Poland has started installing wind turbine on the Baltic sea to power 50% of the county's needs
Norway and Denmark already hit 80% and sometimes beg their citizens to consume more electricity to stabilise the grid.

They are also mass producing a new type of Air Conditioner called heat pump which will be providing heat for homes during Winter and cold during summer. No need using gas again for heat or cooking.

In summary, the Russian-Ukraine war is a blessing in disguise for the West.

What I actually find irritating is

Chinese do migrate alot as well doesn't mean their country is as terrible as Nigeria.... people do have different reasons for migration.
