economist hellneus read what I posted again and I mean that it doesn’t make sense to continue taxing pauperized people without jobs . Nigeria is supposed to be earning millions of dollars daily from crude oil sales if we are to follow what the kleptomaniac government is saying. Instead of a road invest in small businesses so that olaniyi that owns a fish pond in Iseyin where he process dry fish to sell in Lagos and have one worker can now access government loan/ grant of 10m, increase the size of his business and employ 9 lay abouts in the streets or family members…so instead of only olaniyi and his worker paying taxes, there are now 8 others sources of taxes for the government and the same thing will be replicated all over a country of more than 200m people. The multiplier effect will catapult Nigerian economy to one of the best in the world

If you want to be relying only on oil proceeds, you will only be paying salary and probably funding the budget to run the government, there won't be money to do projects and developments

no not at all but use oil proceeds to diversify the economy and create jobs then increase your tax base and make your market attractive to foreign investors
