President Adama Barrow and First Lady Fatoumata Bar-Barrow of the Gambia visited President and Mrs Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja after paying a condolence visit to the family of late former president Muhammadu Buhari in Daura.

Video from the Gambian Presidency shows President Barrow and his wife boarding a plane to Katsina. They arrive Katsina and go to Daura in a motorcade.

They are received by Mrs Aisha Buhari and Yusuf Buhari. They then go to the late former president's grave where they offer prayers.

Jammeh transitioned from being a military head of state to a civilian elected president in 1996. He kept changing the constitution to extend his tenure.

Jammeh lost the 2016 presidential election to Adama Barrow, but refused to leave office. Instead he sacked the electoral commission.

ECOWAS told Jammeh to leave office, but he refused.

President Buhari ordered Nigerian Navy warship, NNS Centenary, to Gambia and Nigerian Air Force Alpha Jets flew over Banjul. Senegalese soldiers also massed on the border, ready to invade Gambia and remove Jammeh.

Jammeh got the message and went into exile.

Gambians took to social media to mourn and thank President Buhari when they heard of his (Buhari's) death.

It will shock you that President Barrow too won't want to leave office at the expiration of his terms of office. President Alex Quattara of Cote d'Voire is a good example of how disappointing African leaders can be. He fought to unseat a despotic Gbagbo, only for him to become a worse version of the person that was chased away.
