2special:Not possible even if that is his intention because other ambitious private refinery projects are under way including that of the Abdul Samad Rabiu-led BUA effort in Akwa Ibom and the Dr. Lukman Bolaji-led Gasoline Integrated International refinery in Ogun State shown below. All in all, I love Tinubu's vision and where it is taking Nigeria with decentralisation effort to remove important sectors and processes out of the hands of greedy politico-business cabals and place them in the hands of private sector player who will offer more value to Nigerians as individuals Nigeria, as a nation, gains immensely in terms of considerable growth in wealth and economic health via developments such as the end of petrol importation making way for the laudable emergence of Nigeria as an exporter of the much more profitable refined derivative of crude. It is a potentially great journey Nigeria has embarked on and I pray such is not truncated by those in the group I cited in bold above.

You all don't know who Tinubu is . By the time he's done with the cabals holding the country to ransom , they'd know Oga na master. Tinubu is supporting his friends like Dangote , Otedola , Elumelu to win the evil cabal disturbing Nigeria . Another term for Tinubu and Nigeria would go astronomically to greater prosperity. Congratulations Nigerians for having Tinubu as a president . He's the best politician in Africa . The one we ought to have had many years before now but it is never too late. Are you guys not seeing we are enjoying uninterrupted electricity like never before ? Change is here . Thank you Tinubu |

What may come as a solace from dangote will surprise Nigerians in a little while. By the time dangote succeeded in capturing Nigerian hearts, he will monopolize our fuel industry and we'll have no choice. He's moving gradually and dumb asses will be clapping for him. Time shall tell. |

bdon123:It was not originally planned for Lagos. The progressive minds of Lagos, that always includes Tinubu, stepped in to provide Dangote with site and all required support to operate. Deregulation of the downstream sector and Fuel subsidy removal , that Tinubu achieved and stuck with, as no President before him could do, helped Dangote immensely also. Under the PBAT Government, licences for private refineries are being granted for consortiums and groups with requisite capacity and without delay, political brinkmanship or cronyism as we would have seen under an OBJ and Atiku presidency, for example, where State assets were sold to friends and affiliates before Yar Adua stepped in. Ditto GEJ government partly responsible for our electricity woes via sales of National DISCOs to his cronies lacking the requisite capacity to run the distribution companies they bought properly. I could go on but the point is that the Tinubu government, though imperfect, is doing a lot right and far better than others before it. Therefore, it is okay for progressive people to give credit where due. |

Pharaoh4rin:Explain, coherently and factually , avoiding conspiracy theories or conjectures, how Dangote can do that when other private refineries, in a deregulated downstream sector, are coming on board. Dangote can only achieve the bolded in your post if abetted by a Government in power which is not the case now and is unlikely to be the case in future considering all interested private sector players, with requisite capacity, can now get approval to build and operate private refineries. |
| Re: Dangote Receives 4,000 CNG Trucks For Free Petroleum Distribution (Video) by WizardOfNG: 8:24am On Jul 28, 2025 |
ambale:Not possible because because the monopoly Dangote and some may have enjoyed in the past will be difficult to experience again. This is due to the precedent -setting policies of the PBAT Government to allow free market liberalism, full private sector freedom, institutional integrity, sincere decentralisation of power/and processes etal to control and define the Nigerian economy. Unless we slide back into an oligarchic dictatorship, masquerading as a democracy, as obtains under Putin's Russia, then we are past the days of any individual or region having total and monopolist stranglehold on markets and profitable ventures in Nigerian. |

fineboynl:They will heavily sabotage the pipelines. There is an NNPC Pipeline from PH to Makurdi Depot which is no longer in use because of heavy drilling of the pipeline along the way by thieves to steal petroleum products. Nigeria is a paradox. |

Ijoba85:Well-said bro. I salute. You grasp the full picture which is very simple. A fully Government supported/empowered, totally accessible and optimally competitive private sector, unimpeded by greedy and wicked politico-business cabals who had the backing of past governments in power, can/will transform Nigeria immensely and quickly. That is the simple but optimally effective solution, even though many cannot see it as you have, Tinubu is chasing and achieving quietly. |

Karlovych:The druggie knows nothing about governance, except looting. Our economy is private sector driven without any government support, especially in the agricultural sector. They only give their cronies waiver to import rice, today the same rice they met at 7k is sold over 100k. Tinubu is a fake akantant. I spit more on APC grave. |

This is a welcome development by Dangote, at least he's trying to make the petroleum industry more accessible and without been monopolies by the greedy politicians we have as leaders in Nigeria. |

Soulsymbol99:Which pressure, oga? When will he ‘cra.ze’? When will he enter market? So he shouldn’t sell his products cheaply again and pay up his debts quickly? Do you know how many years it will take to lay rail tracks? Can he lay rail tracks to all states where he is distributing? Don’t forget he will have to buy wagons o (rolling stock). May be when you build your own refinery, you can do it that way. Lots of imaginative thinkers here. They don’t know how businesses run. Someone that hasn’t managed a recharge card or POS kiosk is advising a multibillion Dollar company on how to distribute its products. |

softsoul22:Indeed. The truth is that Dangote was just the most visionary and best placed to be a pioneer of how Nigeria must reshape her oil sector to so she can take optimal advantage of our crude endowment for the betterment of our economy and the lives of ordinary Nigerian. Previously, is was numerous politico-business cabals and unofficial oligarchs benefitting from our crude endowment through multiple avenues of government-abetted scams. Now, things have changed for the better under PBAT, As long as forward momentum is sustained, there should be no less than five efficient private sector refineries joining Dangote in the next 2 to 8 years. |

bdon123:Dem dem, Dangote refinery was planned to be sited at Igbokoda, in Ondo state. But when Mimiko, a man whose brain is probably in need of a repair, was making senseless demands and frustrating Dangote. Tinubu got to know about it and told Fashola to visit Dangote, Lagos is always interested in big business and the revenues. Tinubu is a man of great vision, he can see far because he puts his mind to use. Put your mind to use, the future starts now. |

ufotunang:If you see the big picture then you will not be speaking from the perspective of what is best for marketers or those who work for them. Marketers are a by-product of fuel subsidy, a gloried scam that is one of the worst any nation in history has ever committed against itself and her people. Fuel subsidy , to begin with, should never have been enacted and sustained if Nigerian leaders, post 1999 and before Tinubu, were interested in doing what is optimally best for the Nigerian economy and people. Marketers, for too many reasons than I can state here, need to go. They, and those who benefit from them, should go and find other businesses and employment to sustain them. What is at stake for the biggest black nation on Earth, of 230 million people, is far more important than what becomes of Marketers and those they employ. |
