Harassing the public under the guise of tradition should be criminalized. Masquerades are fond of doing this. And you wonder why they are resented by many in recent times. How about you display your culture peacefully? I thought the purpose of public parade of masquerades was to endear people towards indigenous traditions. Unfortunately what these guys do evokes hatred towards them. This is how violence erupts. An imam is a religious leader in his right. He has followers who may not easily swallow this kind of shaming. I hope they meet him personally and apologize accordingly. This is not good! |
