I served in Government Technical College, Eyagi Bida very close to this particular school. I can tell you that all those schools are in a very deplorable state.

It would be interesting to know how the school looks like today and what the teacher to students ratio is, compared with six decades ago when these leaders looters were students there?

If their secondary school was free, is that the same thing for all Niger state students today in line with revenue growth in the past six decades?

Is it not terrible that we have allowed the 150 governors of all the 36 states since 1999 to steal money for:

- maintaining existing schools
- establishing new schools for increasing population in line with growing revenue?
- employ well paid teachers and other staff for a good ratio of workers to students like they had in 1962?

BOSA do carry out renovation of administration block, classes, hostels and Donations of classes room equipments .

So what is the governor expected to do with the revenue raised from the public and the ones collected on their behalf?

The Lagos State government has said the ratio of public to private schools at both primary and secondary school levels in the state is one to 22.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, gave the revelation in her remark at the 2022 edition of the Total School Support Seminar Exhibition (TOSSE) held at Oregun in Ikeja between Thursday and Friday.

that's another beauty of nairaland, Post about somewhere in the world here. Is either you meet someone from that particular place, someone ever work or school there . To lie about your place will be very difficult in nairaland

Honestly, it’s impressive how one small group from Govt College Bida shaped so much of Nigeria’s history. But it’s also clear that their leadership didn’t really solve the country’s deeper problems. It makes you wonder if good schooling alone is enough when bigger issues like corruption and politics get in the way.

What a set of fellas who would later play prominent role in the politico-military affairs of Nigeria. No thanks to the Saraduna's crave for northern regain of political dominance of getting young northerner recruited for military training based on mediocrity at the expense of the merit as index of assessment by the colonial masters back then.
