Today in Port Harcourt, a vibrant Ikwerre cultural group proudly represented the Ikwerre people of NDI IGBO in Rivers State during the IGBO FEST PH celebration.

The group showcased their rich Igbo-rooted heritage through traditional dance, attire, and cultural expressions, reminding everyone of the deep Igbo identity and connection of the Ikwerre people.

IGBO FEST PH 2025 continues to unite, celebrate, and promote the beauty of Igbo culture across the South-South region.

The organizing committee of Port Harcourt IgboFest 2025 wishes to inform the general public, partners, and all stakeholders that this highly anticipated cultural event is strictly a celebration of Igbo heritage, unity, and artistic expression. It is not affiliated with any political agenda or movement, nor does it represent any attempt to challenge the identity of our gracious host Obio-Akpor LGA in extension Port Harcourt City.

Port Harcourt IgboFest is a family cultural event intended to promote peaceful coexistence, cultural appreciation, and mutual respect among all ethnic groups living in Rivers State and beyond. It is intended to strengthen the bonds of unity, not division, as has been achieved in peace and harmony in other states. As one of Nigeria's most diverse and welcoming cities, Port Harcourt provides a perfect setting for such cultural expression and dialogue.

We recognize and deeply respect the leadership of Ikwerre in Obia Akpo and in extension Rivers State and the unique heritage of the people of Port Harcourt.

IgboFest is being held with the spirit of collaboration and community, with full awareness and appreciation of the need for cultural harmony and civic responsibility. Neither does it have any connotation to harness any ethnic group into the Igbo community, as has been suggested.

We urge the public to disregard any misinformation or false narratives suggesting political motives behind the event.

Port Harcourt IgboFest is non- partisan, inclusive, and purely cultural. The organizing committee invites all residents, visitors, and cultural enthusiasts to attend and enjoy the event in the spirit of togetherness and celebration.
