The Greek mythology is more interesting than the Norse mythology in god of war

Why jump the bloody part 1-3 to give us part 4

I can never trust a Nigerian film. I laughed when I saw people praising the series on x.

That was when I knew it is probably trash.
Many Nigerians have been fed trash for so long that when they see films with a little touch of brilliance, they begin to overhype them.

Nigerian films are trash and will remain so for the foreseeable future.
You can predict the ending of 99% of Nigerian films, without breaking a sweat.

To each with their own questionable taste but can never be me.
Nollywood and Tyler Perry movies can never see my shadow no matter how hyped they are.
The few Nollywood flicks I've seen was because of my woman.

I support the outrage about them skipping 1-3 which made us all love the GOW franchise.

But I believe the crossover to the Norse mythos in GOW4 has more deeper storyline to follow and with Atreus being a giant and all. This gives the writers something to focus on. The 1-3 na just on a mission to kill all gods, we've seen that storyline many times, even as recently as Blood of Zeus, probably they dont want to follow that trope.

All I want to see is Blades of Chaos, na that one concern me pass.

Maybe show of the Year for Naija abi Africa standard and honestly the person might not be wrong lol 😄

I feel people related to it based of the struggle from the lead character and it played to our emotions and it was the exact same tactics T.perry used on that yeye movie (can't remember the title)

At the risk of sounding condescending, of course Nigerians are always gonna relate to it because that's the kind of Filmmaking they are used to, they don't care for technicalities or the depth of the script... just razz and crass which the show had in abundance.

All the reviews that i have seen that has critic the substance of the script and how shallow it is, have been met with the "Bad belle" tag by majority of Nigerians who feel this show is the best thing since slice bread and it's perfect, which on the strong contrary, it is very very far from. There is no way our movie industry move forward like this.

I'll keep it short and simple..
Now Netflix invested approx. 20+mil dolls for a space of seven years as at ending of 2024 for the Africa market and rumors has it they're now going big in regions of billions now

Now most of the profit that investment made for the past seven years came off Nollywood (i think that shows progress and needs to be supported more)

The only problem i can see are the average writing (which will get better with time)

You don't have to expect a high IQ level of acting from this people at Nollywood when most high budget shows in Hollywood has been fumbling seriously

P.s.. this is the only show from Nollywood i've seen this year lol 😄 but we need to support them and laugh it off as per "them dey try" and keep to our better writing & execution to the big players in North America & Europe

I watched a few episodes of South African show, Shaka Ilembe abi wetin dem dey call am on DStv. It is the highest budgeted Southie show and I could see the pristine cinematography, the play on geography and environment & scenery.....also the writing was top top notch. I was intrigued by the show and storyline. Even the acting was on point. And the Zulu language was paramount.

I look that show, mentally compare am with our bi budget shows or movies and I dey shake my head.

Jesus, that show dey show pristine South African boobs on raw display my gee. Plenty babes walking bare-chest just as our ancestors truly wanted. 🌚

My bro, I dey wonder when Nollywood wan dey consistent with the times and top tier like that.

I've since removed the expectations of better writing and direction from Nollywood projects cos it seems even highly budgeted fare also fail in this aspect.

I don't even see it as an excuse anymore that the writing is poor cos of low funding for the writing department. Why? I see South Korean and even Japanese movies and shows with top tier unbeatable writing that even rivals Hollywood sometimes on shoestring budgets, but still deliver.
But I can't smell half that shït in Nollywood .

The absolute best Nollywood flicks are mostly MID at best compared to competing industries.
I don't even think Nollywood can beat the best projects from Iran sef. 🌚
