It’s called agric. And it need 6 months for the male to matured. Unlike boiler that mature 4 months. Boiler can be sold from 2 - months but that agric needs atlleast 4 months.

Feeds is kind of expensive right now and I thinking breeders have their other challenges concerning it base on reason for the demands

It's been a very long time o

You still see some in the village but that specie is much smaller in size
. Those small ones you see in the village are mostly local fowls cross-breed with this one. So the gene has been watered down massively, as this particular chicken is allowed to move around on the street.

This company in Abuja already sells patented seeds. Nigerians are like headless chicken without sense. They are already eating gmo food. The main issue is the gmo seeds. Tho it has more yield it makes farmers dependent on the companies which is a security risk. Anyone that doesn’t want gmo should go open their own farms na.
Jesu!
It's well

Quite informative and interesting. Thank you for this clear explanation. You seems to have a lot of knowledge. I will try and reach you later if it's ok by you
Can noilers brood and hatch eggs?
Can they roam free exclusively for their feeding? I fit no too dey around to look them.
Lastly how many months does it take a noiler to mature for personal consumption?

Back to topic. It's been long I saw this fowl. The last time I remembered clearly was when my dad bought a couple of grown ones for Christmas. My younger siblings nicknamed the last one jolorjolor. Don't remember their reason for doing so
You can reach me. No problem.

I'm a farmer and have personal experience with some of these birds and also hear from other farmers.

Most of these birds (so called Agric birds) have been bred to loose broodiness so that they lay more eggs. So noiler is not reliable for sitting on eggs. Yes some will sit and hatch but there are cases of them abandoning the eggs midway. I used to use local chickens to hatch their eggs.

Noiler birds can scavenge for food like local chickens. But if you are not supplementing they will take longer to attain their full weight and may not even attain if the environment doesn't have sufficient food. If scavenging look at around a year to reach full potential. But if well fed, they arrive at about 6 months giving around 4 - 4.5kg for male and 2.5kg for females. I once a female that wasn't laying and it reached 4.2kg, my highest male was 3.9kg

Noiler is what autocorrect changed to boiler. They are not reliable for that. Some do. Some don't and those that do can just abandon halfway.
