I thought they love south south, so the love is fake all these while ? I won’t stop hammering this issue on the head of non Igbo in SS geo political zone.. ” Anybody after ore is Omo Nna in the eyes of average yorub man on the street” What a tribe !!!! When you erase their names, you cant erase the legacies of these people on the minds of the locals that made the streets to be named after them .. Very petty, myopic and parochial mentality!! |

I do not care if you call my street Lagbaja Street so long I collect rent from indegenes and can increase it for them. If they cannot pay, let them relocate to Idiroko. They can call it anything. |

Everyone else is seeing the handwriting on the wall except ones dancing in the marketplace. People like helinues and seunmsg are not seeing what others see Tell me if you need a prophet to see that there is imminent violence in the state which the next President will use as reason to declare a state of emergency in order to prevent violence (aka get rid of agberos and politically realign the state to keep it stable). Nigeria can’t afford for Lagos, its most cosmopolitan city, to become politically and economically unstable due to the activities of a group of people whose activities are increasing ethnic tensions and creating insecurity. |

Very good. People must learn to respect their hosts. China, South Africa, Ghana, Indonesia, India, and Nigeria all complaining about these same people. No way. They must know their place. |

The 60s are just getting a careless and a crucial repeat, what is pending now is a controversial census and the final tipping point of 2027 Election. My prayer is that igbos will not be in the menu in Nigeria's butchering table this time around. Bookmark this post , the numerous killing of innocent blood. Humans, etc, will reach a crescendo before evolving into a human catastrophic tsunami soon . The generations that fought and endured the uncivil war are passing away and gradually being replaced with a short sighted and careless generations that will repeat a bigger mistake. Nigeria might end up like Sudan. The war between Russia and Ukraine might end up being fought in Nigeria. Let them keep stoking the flames. Igbos who are investing all their lives savings in Lagos and Abuja should get their hankerchief ready . Move a part of your investment to Dubai, London, Canada, south Africa, Paris etc. Is this too much to ask for, sometimes I weep for my fellow igbos, their stubbornness defies logic. With all the security flags everywhere, they are still investing deep into Abuja and Lagos rather than Dubai and other safenet. I am taking about the billionaires here not investment below N10b |

Morenikeji090:Bro, Obasa warned them, after they showed their hand in the 2023 election blindly backing the bigoted GRV to take over Lagos, but they took no heed as an egotistic people who always underestimate and disregard others. Yoruba conservatism is on the rise as a result of the negative and malevolent energy others paid us back with, for decades now, when they took our liberalism, tolerance and accomodating mien for mumuism. Their 2023 election folly with GRV, when they wanted to prove they are now bigger than Yorubas in Lagos, broke the Camel's back. After that, many Yorubas vowed openly, "never again". As Obasa did below. https://punchng.com/no-mans-land-lagos-assembly-will-make-laws-to-protect-indigenes-obasa/ No man’s land: Lagos Assembly will make laws to protect indigenes — Obasa |

vanbonattel:When you go to a place and call it a no man's land because of their accommodated and friendly spirits; you have crossed your boundaries in many ways. Instead of you to keep being supportive and show signs of gratitude for even accommodating you among them and gives you peaceful environment to thrive than your own states, you will keep insulting them and calling them all sorts of names. Now, the land owners that you thought were never existed because of their friendly natures are now showing you they own the land by renaming their streets. So, why should that be your headache? No yoruba made noise when Anambra was renaming and Yorubas in Anambra, Enugu etc don't always drag ownership with Igbos in those areas, instead they always supportive and remain silent in political matters concerning their host states. Don't blame Lagos, blame your arrogance and ungratefulness in many affairs in south west |

Three things that Nigerian politics use to play with the heads of citizens. 1. Tribalism 2. Religion 3. Money These have been the instruments of division used since 1999. Nigerian citizens have fallen hook, line and sinker. While politicians play their game, they use the opportunity of the foolishness to loot the country dry. Now that there’s serious ethnic division, why not let the various groups simply go their respective ways? Are they waiting for violence to break out, before allowing the different ethnic groups to go their different ways? This street renaming simply bid a symbol of bewitching the citizens who believe more. One wonders the sense in renaming Mba street, which has been so for decades. How will the people of Ajegunle suddenly switch. The same for Osho drive, a very popular street in Ajegunle. Why not rename Goriola or Nosamu streets? APC is such a petty group. Is it not time for breakup? |

immaculatesense:Absolutely. Some people are now being challenged to prove that their slur that "Lagos is no man's land" is valid and not mere braggart noise only. Instead , like empty barrels, they are now crying and gnashing teeth when given the chance to prove na dem "own" Lagos. |
| Re: Lagos State Continues Street Renaming; Tony now Femi Pedro (pic) by immaculatesense(m): 1:16pm On Jul 29, 2025 |
vanbonattel:Sure...that one is coming sooner than you think. The state assembly will pass a law that will ensure that non indigenous landlords have no choice but to sell to indigenous people or risk government take over after ten years. That bill is coming and all you will do is to rant but nothing will change. |
