If a President can give $100,000 to individuals, that means that president is stealing billions of dollars from the national treasury.

Some persons will spill out trash as usual, just to support this administration. Those that are very quick to attack sensible Nigerians, should please ask themselves this question; " what have I personally benefitted or enjoyed in this nation Nigeria?" No basic amenities for ordinary Nigerians. I wonder why people keep defending a government that has failed to ameliorate the sufferings of Nigerians. They (govt) would rather share and dish out money for public show off. Imagine, trying to enrich someone or somebody who is already rich, wealthy and connected.....while millions are lavishing in penury and abject poverty. APC is government of the rich, by the rich and for the rich!

Personally, I'm I different about the cash gift and other prizes that Oga Tinubu splashed on the Super Falcons. However, comparing it with the BBN depicts a very high level of cluelessness.

BBN is a program that makes Billions for the organizers, with the winner taking home only a paltry sum of N150m.

If the participation of the Super Falcons earned the Nigerian government say $30m in cash and foreign Direct Investment, then you can use the BBN scenario as a perfect Illustration.

Apart from that.. Just say kudos the girls and the TC and allow them to enjoy their own share of the national cake in peace!
I admire people with sane minds....of #160m can be given easily to one person, then the President should consider dropping fuel pump price to #300 , there is money in this country than the suffering the masses are meant to face daily....

Some families can't boast of three square meals not because the parents are not hardworking but the value of Naira is messed up before the market...

Now they spend in dollars , even out President will be laughing and saying that there is indeed hunger in Nigeria if ordinary #100,000 dollars he gave each player is causing havoc on Nigerians ...

Onanuga, think about it...! You do have a brain.

In a nation where hard working and dedicated civil servants, teachers, and other members of the labor force earn minimum wage peanuts, what or how exactly do you expect them to feel about their President doling out millions of Naira to footballers?!!

A nation where basics like Electricity, Potable water, and Security, not even mentioning good roads, are daydreams, do you expect citizens to jump for joy at such outlandish displays of monetary gifts?!!

How much did you give to individuals and families that suffered losses to flood and terrorist attacks?!!

Just recently, soldiers complained online about the meagre earnings and meals they receive... we all know their allowances are nothing to write home about.

By dashing Falcons money that is way higher than their Cup prize money, what exactly are you trying to prove?!! What message do you think suffering Nigerians will glean from that ostentatious gesture?!!

Make una dey think before rushing to defend and make posts.

That was how Buhari was dashing Billions as donations to Niger and other nations in conflict, while IDP camps suffered hunger and malnutrition.

Nigeria won it for the ten times. Leicester city owner back in 2016, gave each player and staff Lamborghini for winning the premier league. Those cars are far more than the amount paid to the owner by FA for winning the premier league then. It is called appreciation. You bitter people should relax cos most of us knows the reason why you people are not happy. Some of you were boasting that the igbo girls gave nigeria the cup even when Ajibade was named the tournament best player. Why are you people don't want your tribe girls to be 1m dollars rich.

Noted that I'm not against the President doing such for the players for it creates a sense belonging and a way of appraisal.
But the civil servants especially those whose income is below #100K deserve something as such once in a while....

Splashing money to footballers won't change that fact.

But tell the government not to go on a borrowing spree tomorrow please, you all are making it look like people don't appreciate success. The girls had already won 1million dollars when they lifted that trophy and I wonder why any reasonable government should deem it fit to splash billions on them again in such an economy as ours. People are barely surviving in this country but we would rather spend money on people that are already in money.

I agree with you on this one Onanuga. Because some of us don't support Tinubu doesn't mean we shouldn't appreciate this govt when they get it right. If it were to be their sister or daughter that was on that team I am sure they would have said different. Ebenezer Obey already said it though...ko s'ogbon to le da, ko s'iwa to le wu, ko s'ona to le gba, to le fi te aye l'orun o! angry

For those who are still finding it hard to wrap their heads around this, remember even the Bible says that 'to him who has much would be given, and to him who doesn't have even that which he thinks he has would be taken from him and given to those who have' that my friends is capitalism in a nutshell, that is what makes the world go round...demand and supply.

T-Bobo! The D'Tigress too are about to win the Basketball Tournament for us as well, please do same for them and pepper pro max all these small-minded folks complaining all over the place.

You also should think and use your brain.
If you are going by this your reasoning so then let me ask you how many of all these people you mentioned hustle for a price money as high as that of the WAFCON (1$m) for their NATION in a space of 4 weeks.

U are ill informed and lazy in doing reasoning otherwise you would have known that the soldiers are well budgeted for if not for those criminals holding offices that symphon them.

The total take home of these girls after the WAFCON is about $2k each for the whole 4 weeks whereas some of them make around and above $5k per week..

We have heard and witness cases of these ladies being abandoned after the competition for years now.
So if 001 decides to reward them this time please don't make it look like that's enough reason to decide to make OBI the president

Na stingy people with a hint of embezzling funds dey talk the way you do. Judas said exactly the same thing meanwhile he was busy helping himself to the treasury. grin grin

But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected, “Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.” He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it - John 12:4-6

You're right and wrong. Yes the price money for winning any European league or competition is smaller to what the clubs rewards the players, but those clubs makes their money thru something else like advertising, sponsorship and tv rights which stems from the football they played. But what is the super falcons bringing to Nigeria govt.
How many of their jerseys have you or others bought

They love Nigerians! It's good to appreciate our super falcons but we should not rob the bank to do that. $100,000 for each one of them is too much, at least it should be $15,000. We are borrowing these monies! I expected the FG to have contacted Dangote, Adenuga, Adeleke, Elumelu, Arthur Eze and Co to come and cheer the girls and support them too.
In this country we have soldiers fighting Boko Haram in desert complaining of hunger and non payment of salaries, retired police men complaining, civil servants/teachers complaining, ASUU/ NASU etc complaining of under payment. How will they feel when they see this?
A civil servant goes home at the end of 4 weeks with $46 and at end of 35 years with $1350. A player that played for 3 weeks goes home with $100,000 from the same government! If these teachers return for minimum wage you think they will settle for anything less than 300k?
Nigeria is broke but our leaders are not showing us that. We borrow to pay salaries, build roads etc. Those complaining are not ingrates.

As long as it's from the President's own private account.

For this period, every kobo counts. Spending $100k on each player from govt purse will be a mismanagement of resources.
What can you really do other than come online and boast? I don’t see any actions taken to address the wasted government funds spent on unnecessary things. This government lacks accountability and squanders money on irrelevant lawmakers. So whatever they do is what we take but for the money he gave to the girls, it was kind of him because is their shear of the national cake and it will encourage more of our girls to go into sport

the way we place value on money has to do with our mindest.
If you are the type when no dey see money esp if your Frm a poor home.
you will always fault sm1 when he spends excessively.

Giving has to do with our much you place value on the person you wnt to give to or to that occasion.

the girls where on national assignment and they delivered esp the way dt final match went.
You cnt place a price on National pride.

because we are use to suffering and seeing small small money. When somtin big comes in an unusual way we say it is too much.

those ones among them dt plays abroad won't say is to much because them dey see the money steadily. It may look too.much for those.ones that are still playing in local league.

Rewarding the Falcon generously, is a good thing to do to keep motivation high and encourage athletes to be interested in representing Nigeria which would then help Nigeria become a powerhouse of African Sports.

The Falcons would be shocked seeing some Nigerians being unreasonable and childishly bitter, those who are yet to get over the election loss. The Falcons, national team players in other sports and lovers of sports will henceforth start to disassociate themselves with these set of people. Following Me President's gesture, I have seen young girls who are encouraged to look around their neighborhood for a football field or academy to kick off their career, some of whom had thought they only had to be on TikTok twerking and showing some skin. Now they believe they can be rewarded by their country if they put in the hard work. I have also heard parents saying their daughters have to play football.
God bless President Tinubu, God bless Nigeria.

-Kiss the truth!
If your daughter took first position in her class will you sell your car to buy her gift? You talk without first listening to yourself. In this economy that Tinibu is borrowing left and right, $100,000 is too much at least $15,000. We have soldiers fighting Boko Haram complaining of hunger and underpayment, how will they feel when they see this? Is FG encouraging or demoralizing them?

$100,000 is too much for an incentive in our current economic situation, the girls in question won 1million dollars as the prize money for the tournament so where exactly would that leave us?
