gerizzim:Do you know that Nigerian borrowed that money that was given to the super falcons? We are broke. Read papers. Anyone that knows what is happening in Nigeria won't support giving of $100,000 to an individual through tax payers money. Last week retired police officers were protesting because of non payment of pension. Teachers all level and medical staffs are all running away. Give them $15,000 , house and other benefits. They will still play this competition next two years. |

gerizzim:Correct talk. Oshoala was reportedly on around 45 to 50k USD monthly while at Barcelona. How is it too much, considering the achievement, to give her 100k USD which is two months worth of her former salary for helping Nigeria become African champion? If foreign-based Nigerian Falcon deserve that reward then their Naija-based companion must get no less than the same 100k USD also. This is all just noise of people who don't see the big picture and are only looking at what appears big financial reward . |

TimeManager:On the contrary the falcon understand Nigeria beef his not with them But the uselezz Dead brain president who never get his priority right A president that told Nigerians to embrace Suffering cos No money ... splashes $100,000 on players that were already rewarded by AFCON A president that fails to pay retirees 2yrs pension claiming no Money wake up to splash $100k on young gurlz that have good source of income The grand prize of Afcon is just $1million and Tinubu just lavish ova $2million as gift ... gift pass grand prize does it make sense. why should Nigerians not be angry, in a country our sænselezz president shared Rice to flood victims |

Nackzy:The grand prize of the Tournament is $1million and your president just wasted over $2million to compliment the falcons ... please rationalize it This is the same uselezz president telling Retirees no Money for the past 2yrs now ... retirees no pay But falcons that got wages n grand prize for extra $100k ... please rationalize it Falcons are most important than our Aged retirees who serve the nation for 35yrs ... Tinubu say no money |

Angelfrost:God bless u Prof. Exactly wat I said on the thread yesterday. Honestly, It's nauseating. Dedicated civil servants like us working 7 days a week from 8am 5pm, and health workers working almost 7days a week are receiving a megre sum, and wen we complain the government will tell u that the country is broke. The same country that is broke can afford to gift 160 million plus to 24 players and about 11 coaching staff. Wait!! I 4got about our security personnel and the military being paid peanuts despite spending all the lives in the bush fighting Bokoharam and bandits. And some people they defend this government. Omo!! I give up. Most people in the public sector can't boast of having a reasonable savings. Their salaries can barely take them more than a week. Most are on loans. |

belikewater:Lol... Your analogy makes me laugh! Jesus Christ knew and still knows the intentions of every man's heart. Do you know the intentions of my heart?!! Can you read my mind or you just dey find way to defend your corrupt and clueless leaders?!! ![]() You can defend nonsense without dragging sacred scriptures into it. When Buhari was throwing money around to Niger and to Pilgrims heading to Mecca while the nation suffered, people like you said the same thing when we spoke up. The other day, it was Billions being budgeted for VP mansion renovation, and some of you hushed us with these same words. If Jesus Christ was that negligent of the welfare of his people while throwing money around at frivolities, what do you think would have become of his life's work and ministry?!! Engage your brain abeg. ![]() |

This onanuga is doing this administration a huge disservice. He doesn't even know how to construct a logical argument. So BBN's 150m NAIRA is from the government's purse abi? Even 150m pales in comparison to the amount of money the show racks in for the producers. I now understand that there is confusion in their camps. Whoever the gods want to punish, they first make mad. They even started the politics of tribalism too early. |

Putindbutt:Gettttaaaaaat!! U tink u have money more than the people u tagged above especially Angelfrost? Wat y'all fail to understand is that some of the people criticising the government policies are doing well financially, but only want a better country for everyone. They want a better country for people like u but tribalism, party affiliation and religious bigotry have kept u blinded. I'm doing well financially by God's grace but that won't stop me from speaking out. |

Pakute:Taxpayers money that should be executed to subsidise some key sectors in Nigeria, is he paying them from his personal pocket? I contribute to that money that will be awarded to the Super Falcons. You can hate me for saying my truth. The money these guys are given is too outrageous, and I bet it's just an audio money, they will be given a fraction of that money, and the remaining will be swindled by the Ministry of sport officials. We know their game. |

Onanuga is a foolish man, a mouthpiece of failure, who had the audacity to compare the Super Falcons' victory with MultiChoice’s Big Brother Naija show, where the winner gets ₦150 million. That’s the warped logic these people operate with. And based on that ridiculous comparison, our president, in all his wastefulness, decided to gift ₦150 million to each player — in a country where graduates roam the streets without jobs. Where is the sense? How can anyone justify such spending when first-class engineering graduates are forced to teach physics in rural schools for ₦25,000 per month, with no career path, no support, and no future? This isn’t just poor leadership. It is the celebration of stupidity, wrapped in corruption and national disgrace. Onanuga and his principal have dragged the bar so low that incompetence has become the norm. In a country where the minimum wage is ₦70,000 and inflation is destroying lives, this government still finds ways to mock the suffering of ordinary Nigerians with lavish gifts meant only to polish their image. Let’s be clear. These players already earned over $35,000 each in FIFA match bonuses. Now, another $100,000 (₦150 million) is being thrown at them, while millions can’t afford food or shelter. That is $2.3 million in taxpayer funds wasted, just to trend on social media. That money could have built skill hubs, supported local manufacturing, or launched SME grants for youth across the country. Instead, it was tossed into a publicity stunt by leaders who have no vision, no conscience, and no shame. This government is not only wasteful. It is morally and intellectually bankrupt. And to those clapping for them, I pity you. You are either feeding off the system or blind to the rot. 2027 must not be business as usual. Tinubu, Atiku, Obi — all of them have had their time. We need a clean break from this cycle of incompetence and deception. Let votes count from the ward level to the federal level. Let’s force accountability from the bottom up. If we don’t act, things will only get worse. Nigeria is bleeding, and these men of a wasted generation are the ones holding the knife. May God judge them all. |

Kokodeni:Again... You didn't need to drag Obi or any tribe into this as nothing in my post drew such connections. Your obsession with Obi is your life's problem not mine... There is more to leadership discussions than childish and petty politics. If I am ill-informed for calling out the reality that I see daily and witness firsthand, then what do we call you that defend what shouldn't be defended?!! You said soldiers are well catered for and their funds being siphoned, whose job is it to correct these issues?!! Whose job is it to clean up the corruption across all sectors?!! Is that your job, sir?!! Or is it mine?!! Am I the one in charge of appointments into key offices?!! Is the President so far removed from the reality of his citizens?!! If so, how then is he fit to lead the nation?!! For your first 2 paragraphs regarding the players themselves, I never once said it was wrong or bad to reward them, I simply called out the cl0wn assisting Tinubu (Onanuga) for insulting Nigerians. Nigeria is not the only nation where players win medals and are rewarded. If the leadership did right by the citizens, would there be such widespread bellyaching across the nation?!! Is this the first time footballers are winning trophies and getting rewarded in this nation?!! Omo... What is the matter with you lots?!! Damn!!! |

NastiLord:150 million plus each for 24 players and 11 coaching crew too small? Are u for real? For a country that is wallowing in poverty and claiming theres no money, hereby going on a Borrowing spree.? Them for just sell the country already and give them b4 u go happy. Nigerians are so funny. ![]() |

Olu1000:job pay and reward varies based on job description and difficulty of task. Its not easy to beat several teams to come up ontop in an international championship and put ur country on the global map for achievements and recognition. |

Freebills12:You are doing side by side comparative analysis of monetary reward for service rendered in a wrong way. you dnt compare the price tag(salary) of an International football star to a Nigerian police officer or any oda civil servants. You and I know that. They are paid heavily in USD. they spend in USD. you are looking at it by comparing dollar equivalent to our dying naira value. Dt is why you think it is too much. Do you know some of our footballers earns in billions monthly. an example is osimen The oda day, he went to his former school and donated #50million naira. some of you still said it was too much. If you dey where money dey flow in USD or you earn in usd, you won't say it is too much. Na wen you hear how mch the avg American basket ballers dey collect as salary monthly dt is when you go know say even our osimen and co dey receive peanut. They are highly paid Dan football stars. every profession has a salary range or a way of compensation. |

yommen:Oga, what he gave them is not my business... Read and comprehend. I'm not even one of the people complaining about the money... All I hate is Eye service. Asking Nigerians suffering not to complain when leaders tell them the nation is not financially equipped to pay better salaries while doling out incredible amounts for show is beyond unreasonable. Would Nigerians be complaining if they lived better lives?!! Besides, Onanuga was the one that made the silly comment above when he should have kept shut. As for football money being nobody's mate, I absolutely agree...! So, now I have to ask... How wealthy are the footballers playing in the Nigerian league?!! I await your answer. ![]() |

Some Nigerians are Satan first born, when we won the trophy some set of groups said their tribe make up the majority of the team, boasting online that they made it happen. Immediately, president reward the same team, they turn around castigating the president good gesture 🙌. Harboring hatred will soon start paing people in this country especially those their oga lost the last presidential election. |
