Does Nigeria still have any elephants in that axis? Most of them are officially registered under the Benin Republic and tagged with GPS. They should be careful about killing them to avoid international incidents. Also, elephants are not violent without provocation.

My closest shot with Lion and Elephants was in Uganda.
I came out of my pick-up van to have a good view of an elephant herds in Pakwach.
They saw me and tolerated me.
After sometimes, the leader charged to let me know "time's up".
I ran in and the driver moved immediately.
All animals are naturally friendly, but can also mis-interpret us like we Men do.

Not necessarily. Lone Bull elephants are extremely aggressive due to surge of testosterone in their bloodstream esp if it's mating season. A herd is generally safe but a lone Bull, trouble! Elephants have been documented to kill humans for fun.

An adult bull elephant can easily reach a speed of 25mph. U have to be an elite sprinter to attain that speed.
