I commend Tinubu for rewarding the girls.

That was how it used to be until tight fisted Buhari came and changed things.
Complete it nah, with his so called "presidential handshake".

The Falcons would be shocked seeing some Nigerians being unreasonable and childishly bitter, those who are yet to get over the election loss. The Falcons, national team players in other sports and lovers of sports will henceforth start to disassociate themselves with these set of people. Following Me President's gesture, I have seen young girls who are encouraged to look around their neighborhood for a football field or academy to kick off their career, some of whom had thought they only had to be on TikTok twerking and showing some skin. Now they believe they can be rewarded by their country if they put in the hard work. I have also heard parents saying their daughters have to play football.
God bless President Tinubu, God bless Nigeria.

-Kiss the truth!
I supported the president but in another view the Government should also reward talents in innovation, science and technology like our first class graduates and those who have demonstrated unusual skills in other fields not only rewarding footballers all the time. If the sponsors of BBN find it important to them to reward unclothedness and iranu then the Government must reward good brain and innovation

On the contrary the falcon understand Nigeria beef his not with them But the uselezz Dead brain president who never get his priority right

A president that told Nigerians to embrace Suffering cos No money ... splashes $100,000 on players that were already rewarded by AFCON

A president that fails to pay retirees 2yrs pension claiming no Money wake up to splash $100k on young gurlz that have good source of income

The grand prize of Afcon is just $1million and Tinubu just lavish ova $2million as gift ... gift pass grand prize does it make sense.

why should Nigerians not be angry, in a country our sænselezz president shared Rice to flood victims
you say , the president lavished the money.
if it was you that was beneficiary of such money, would you say , "Mr President, pls this money is too much for me. I dnt want it"

Don't be silly. All these ills doesn't stop the government from recognizing and rewarding excellence.

Will leaving them empty handed solve the issues you mentioned above?

Don't be a keyboard warrior.
The silly one is the one who can't rise above insults to read and rebutt like a normal thinking person.

I responded particularly to the comment of Onanuga calling out Nigerian citizens.

He has no business and no moral standing to do that... Average Nigerians have the full right to complain and criticize acts of the government that don't go down well with them.

I went on to explain the root cause of such widespread national displeasure.

Now, don't be silly... Learn to read and respond with your senses intact.

Thank you.

It is not a bad ideal gifting the falcons 100 000 dollars . I love that . But you need to start paying teachers, nurses, engineers, doctors etc at least N5million naira monthly. A teacher that is teaching the kids , raising generational rulers and leaders earning peanuts . A teacher that is earning less than 100,000 monthly can never earn up to that amount in his life time .

They love Nigerians! It's good to appreciate our super falcons but we should not rob the bank to do that. $100,000 for each one of them is too much, at least it should be $15,000. We are borrowing these monies! I expected the FG to have contacted Dangote, Adenuga, Adeleke, Elumelu, Arthur Eze and Co to come and cheer the girls and support them too.
In this country we have soldiers fighting Boko Haram in desert complaining of hunger and non payment of salaries, retired police men complaining, civil servants/teachers complaining, ASUU/ NASU etc complaining of under payment. How will they feel when they see this?
A civil servant goes home at the end of 4 weeks with $46 and at end of 35 years with $1350. A player that played for 3 weeks goes home with $100,000 from the same government! If these teachers return for minimum wage you think they will settle for anything less than 300k?
Nigeria is broke but our leaders are not showing us that. We borrow to pay salaries, build roads etc. Those complaining are not ingrates.
The way you celebrate a 10 year old child is different from the way you celebrate him or her when he was 9years , 7 years or 2 years old.

Some people are crazy

How dare you criticize the president. Gesture

This is a reward to a team that has shown that it pays to work hard.
No national women team in the world has won 10 titles. Not Brazil not England
They victory has inspired countless millions across the country, Africa and the globe
The manner in which they won it showing resilience.

It means to the youth is you work hard shunning other vices you can be rewarded.

The president didn't just go and and start sharing money to every footballer on the street. But those that put Nigeria name on the glóbal map. So he will never come and give you millions before you are a civil servant that has worked 10 years or more. What exceptional thing have you done apart from carrying file from office to office

If anybody is complaining they should step out and do things exceptionally in thier areas.

Rather I would suggest we all comment the president o this gesture and seek to make it a culture of rewarding deserving individuals in all field from sports to education to gallant soldiers, to just everyone that stands out in thier field.

This way we will kill the culture of laziness, get rich syndrome among youths

Tinubu has no sense of governance. Though, $100k to him is like #100 because has enough money to spend recklessly. The reason he removed subsidy is for him to have enough money for himself and family. I told you people that the man is too clever.

Una don start again with this igbo and Yoruba narratives, if you all can't stay together as one people then why don't we all just break up in peace.
When a fool speaks, it’s not hard to tell.

Ask yourself a few questions:
Do you have a job?
Which university did you attend, and with what grade?
When will you have your first child?
When will you finally put a smile on your mother’s face by buying her something meaningful — after all her years of sacrifice?
Can you afford a one-bedroom flat and a car of your own in Lagos?

Don’t answer me. This isn’t for my ears — it’s food for thought.
If just one of those questions makes you uncomfortable, then understand this: Nigeria has failed you.
And that failure comes courtesy of the useless, greedy men in power who have looted the nation dry without shame.

They destroyed the future of this country just to fatten their pockets — with zero regard for the suffering of the people.

I was once insulted on Nairaland for campaigning for Tinubu. We begged, defended, and hoped. But today, I say it with full chest:
It was the biggest political mistake of my life.

This president is short-sighted, clueless, and an outright disaster.
This is not about tribe — I am Yoruba, but Tinubu and the cabal of failed past leaders deserve the full wrath of God for what Nigerians are enduring today.

How can ₦9 million no longer buy a 15-year-old Camry that used to go for less than ₦2 million just a few years ago?
And yet this old man tells us to “endure” — while he and his co-looters live in comfort, throwing public funds around like confetti.

Where is the First Lady’s so-called company that gave Benue ₦1 billion? Who audited it? Where did it come from?

Come 2027, we take this country back.
No Tinubu. No Obi. No Atiku.
We are done with all of them.
Let Nigerians rise with anger, clarity, and purpose — or we will continue to suffer in the hands of these wolves in agbada.

Absolute good for nothing ingrates were the ones critical about the presidential rewards to the falcons.

The presidency should extend same gesture to other sports men and women especially our basketball team
They have got no right to waste our common resources on few sportmen, in a country of around 200 million people with 80 Percent living in abject poverty, you can't hand 150 million each to those players, you removed subsidy because the country doesn't have money to better the lives of the citizenry. You can't tell us to tightened our belts going round making impulsive decision, what a terrible leader

Onanuga, think about it...! You do have a brain.

In a nation where hard working and dedicated civil servants, teachers, and other members of the labor force earn minimum wage peanuts, what or how exactly do you expect them to feel about their President doling out millions of Naira to footballers?!!

A nation where basics like Electricity, Potable water, and Security, not even mentioning good roads, are daydreams, do you expect citizens to jump for joy at such outlandish displays of monetary gifts?!!

How much did you give to individuals and families that suffered losses to flood and terrorist attacks?!!

Just recently, soldiers complained online about the meagre earnings and meals they receive... we all know their allowances are nothing to write home about.

By dashing Falcons money that is way higher than their Cup prize money, what exactly are you trying to prove?!! What message do you think suffering Nigerians will glean from that ostentatious gesture?!!

Make una dey think before rushing to defend and make posts.

That was how Buhari was dashing Billions as donations to Niger and other nations in conflict, while IDP camps suffered hunger and malnutrition.

Omo!!! Nigerian leaders and their supporters might have serious M£ntal Health Issues. undecided
If it was the first time in our history we would have understood the gesture but the 10th cup fa!!

Nigeria won it for the ten times. Leicester city owner back in 2016, gave each player and staff Lamborghini for winning the premier league. Those cars are far more than the amount paid to the owner by FA for winning the premier league then. It is called appreciation. You bitter people should relax cos most of us knows the reason why you people are not happy. Some of you were boasting that the igbo girls gave nigeria the cup even when Ajibade was named the tournament best player. Why are you people don't want your tribe girls to be 1m dollars rich.
Leicester club is a business venture and those players brought massive revenue through ticket sales and other business ventures. Our president is a terrible leader, you pay civil servants 70k but could easily splash 150 million per person and 75 million per Technical staffs, he must bring back subsidy it shows Nigeria has a lot of money

Reasonably speaking, the cup prize is supposed to go to the country account. they serve their country. Wondering why the country is rewarding them more than whole continent does . It is a sign of weakness.
Congrats to the players anyway.
The gift seems ridiculous only because the country is a mess.
No one will objects if it was done in his name and from his personal account.
