Hon James Faleke disassociate himself from the indigenous bill just as the Honourable Blessing Amadi from Rivers State had done earlier today.

Public Statement

I have noticed a number of tags and mentions on my social media platforms regarding the proposed Indigenous Bill currently before the National Assembly.

Let me state categorically that I am not a co-sponsor of the Bill. Any suggestion to the contrary is entirely false and misleading.

I do not support the Bill, and I believe it stands no chance of being ratified by the states. It is, therefore, unreasonable to suggest that I would align myself with such a proposal.

I urge the public to disregard these unfounded claims and remain guided by verified facts.

Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, OON
Member House of Representatives (Ikeja Federal Constituency)

Where did Osibanjo push a bill for people to become indigenes after 10 years? How is certificate or residence an indigenization?
Is English comprehension hard for you?

Even Osinbajo was quickly condemned and he backed out immediately. Despite the outcry against this bill by Kalu, he is still pushing it. That was the same way Ironsi gave power to us in the North via his unification decree. Nzogbu nzobgu everytime. Lol.

Idigenisation bill is different from certificate of resident.

Go and get schooled pls.

Besides, osinbajo is not a law makers. He only suggested certificate of residence in one of the occasions where he gave a speech.
Nothing was heard about it when other stake others except the Igbos kicked against it.

Your claim that it was the former VP that first started it doesn't hold water. The VP never planned to make it a law.

of all certificate of residence is different from indigine status.

That said that’s why Osinbajo was never fit to be president. He is a typical western educated English speaking Nigerian who thinks he is a white man.

The bill that should be introduced is a bill that mandates people to vote in their state of origin.

The reason why we produce so many bad leaders is because the educated have fled the villages and ancestral lands. The Educated southerners live in Lagos or PH and the educated Northerners are gathered in Abuja.

As a result we are far removed from our states of origin and have no say in who becomes the senators, rep assembly members and governors. Out no of 109 senators we have influence only over 5. The senator for Abuja 3 for Lagos and PH city. Even the. It is not real influence because we only vote after they have selected.

Also voting at our states of origins will force us to periodically go home, causing everyone to develop more interest in rural areas and more importantly having more influence on the elected officials we send to represent us at the state and national levels.

You can’t sit down in Lagos and Abuja and complain that quacks become elected officials in our states. All politics is local. If the educated and enlightened are not present the vacuum will be filled by quacks!

Absence of the educated from their towns or villages or states of origin is why the vacuum is filled by charlatans.

Plus there is no point in voting in a state where the locals have shut you out of the candidate selection process.

If Nigerians are truly serious about developing the country and states. The educated minority should take more interest in the bdevelopments in and participate in voting in their states or else there will only be Abuja and Lagos with any meaningful development.

All these English speaking on Arise and meaningless polls on Twitter are meaningless if we sit in Lagos and Abuja while the charlatans hijack the villagers in our states.

It's like some people don't think at all.
The most dangerous bill to push around right now is any form of indigenization bill.

With Fulani herdsmen running rampant, U want to push for a bill that will make them indigenes and have legal/native right to seize lands!!!!!

U guys better be careful. That's how Ironsi enforced unification decree despite public outcry against it. The aftermath is what Nigeria is suffering today.

The most ridiculous and embarassing bill ever presented in the whole Nigeria. A big shame and stain on Benjamin Kalu. It’s not every money you accept, it’s not every agenda you agend without thinking of your political future. If people are pushing you to do things that may destroy opportunities for you in future, you have to be wise enough to commot yourself. They want you to use your name, not their own. So they can keep living in luxury while you struggle after presenting such bill.

A good name is worth more than Silver and Gold. See your co-sponsors running for their life. Faleke, I don’t believe this your denial. You should have denied being a co-sponsor as soon as the bill was presented. You waited until it failed and you abandon ship. We need to keep our eyes on James Faleke. He seems to be likely to sell out for the right price.

That's gonna be a deep one for those living outside their home states to go back to vote every 4 years. It could create some form of lethargy (except it's made mandatory for all in order to gain access to government issued documents or essential facilities).

That MUST never be tolerated because foreign migrants through the illegal borders of especially the far North of Nigeria such as the foreign Fulas from the Sahelian region would abuse it to settle in several states of Nigerian cities and towns while changing the demographics and the chaos and nightmare scenarios would begin.

There must be boundaries to prevent these scenarios from occuring.
