Few years ago,one could spend the naira to buy stuff when crossing the west African borders from Lagos to seme to Lome to the one at Lome/Ghana....traders are always eager to accept the naira. But today,it's such a different story. Not too long ago,a man was arrested for bringing in some hard currencies he didn't declare, dollars and guess what,CFA!!! When people speak the truth and reality, hypocrites will call you ipob, unpatriotic etc. |

Kemetian:Are you saying that if Nigeria bans importation totally and everyone in Nigeria starts buying only local goods, 1NGN will become 1USD at some point? What if trillions of Naira was excessively printed by politicians and converted to usd like the Government claim was done during the last regime? Do you think Naira will still be stronger if reckless printing is done? What you are suggesting is okay but it is like pouring water into a basket with holes. The citizens will be pouring the water(buying local goods) while politicians will be creating more holes(printing more money/embezzling what was earned) |

That shows he is spending dollars in Aso Villa not Naira. Reason why dollars is scarce and why he doesn't care whether Naira is worthless or not. |

Kemetian:this long epistle of yours is unnecessary here. It should rather be directed at Tinubu and his family, Akpabio and his family, Wike and his family and the rest of them. Who goes for medical tourism abroad when there are hospitals here, wasting away foreign currencies? Who are the ones who would rather have their children school overseas when there are schools here? Who would rather import high end SUVs when there's IVM and the others? .....you know the answers to these but would rather heap blames on the common man. Na wa for you o! |

Despite the fact that this Donation is very well deserved, President Tinubu’s decision to donate $100,000 to the Super Falcons in US dollars, rather than in Nigeria’s official currency, the Naira, is a glaring disrespect to the nation’s monetary identity. The recipients are Nigeria National players, not another Nation's. A leader should promote confidence in the local currency, especially at a time when the Naira struggles against inflation and devaluation. By choosing dollars over Naira, the president sends a message that even he lacks faith in Nigeria’s currency, further eroding public trust. If the government does not believe in the Naira, why should the citizens? Leadership begins with example, and this act undermines efforts to stabilize and dignify Nigeria’s Legal tender. |

LagosOrigin:Don't mind that useful idiot thinking he is making sense, presido and his lot are buying escalades, a330 jets, land cruisers and prados, £10m villas, dishing out $100k to these falcons, spending $39b of coastal road on paddy paddy arrangement where his son is a director, yet that dummy thinks what we buy is the cause of the naira falling to 1500. That is the same way they came after those talking of the excesses of yaya bello only to find out when he left office how he plundered the state. |
