Global Afrobeats superstar Davido has stirred emotions online after sharing a never-heard-before memory of his early grind — running McDonald’s errands for Don Jazzy and D’Banj back in the day, using his billionaire father’s Rolls Royce. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) by @AsakyGRN, Davido is seen smiling as he reflects on his beginnings in music, particularly an unforgettable moment that took place in Atlanta around 2008.

“In Atlanta, 2007 or 2008 or 2009… In my father’s house, I was freestyling for Don Jazzy and D’Banj. He sent me to go and buy McDonald’s with my papa car — Rolls Royce,” Davido recalled with laughter.

Although his delivery was playful, fans took the moment seriously — some praised his journey, others questioned the details, and a few called cap.

The “Timeless” crooner used the opportunity to reflect on how far he has come in his career, from freestyling for industry legends to becoming one of Africa’s biggest music exports.
