Now that no heavyweight is in PDP again, what is stopping wike from being presidential aspirant since he has refused to leave PDP. |

The Coalition already got him confused and he is now hurriedly rearranging his sabotage cards. Wike is the biggest hypocrite of the current political dispensation or how can he convince discerning minds that he actually wanted a southern presidency when he desperately and discreetly tried, hustled to become Atiku's running mate in the last election but failed. Wike is the real threat to democracy and he has largely been curtailed by more experienced politicians who saw through the facade and left the PDP for him to do whatever he wants with it. ADC; HERE WE COME!!! |

Wike already made it clear he can't work against Tinubu, he will rather wait till 2031.same with Fayose, they have both pledge to support Tinubu in 20227 but 2031 is when the action begins for these two. |

flyinnizam:Wike has said he has ruled himself out of challenging for the 2027 Presidency because he is a supporter of Tinubu's Presidency he believes is best for Nigeria and deserves a second term. It is as simple as that. |
| Re: What's Stopping Wike From Clinching The PDP Presidential Ticket by dude(m): 8:57am On Jul 30, 2025 |
He simply can't win. All the odds are firmly stacked against him. The PDP has lost many of it heavy weight membership drive to the ADC while others have defected to the APC. Even some of the few left are not exactly his allies. I.e, Bala Mohammed. Having studied the political terrain, Wike knows he has no chance of winning presidential election even if he grabs the PDP ticket. It must be known that Wike has NO permanent loyalty to anyone. Amaechi, Odili, Jonathan and others who were once his benefactors all now stand subject of insults. If he thought he had any good chance. Wike will waste no second on contesting against Tinubu and throwing him put of power. |
| Re: What's Stopping Wike From Clinching The PDP Presidential Ticket by WizardOfNG: 8:57am On Jul 30, 2025 |
nothingspoil70:Precisely. Wike has stated this repeatedly. |

Wike for president ![]() |
| Re: What's Stopping Wike From Clinching The PDP Presidential Ticket by WizardOfNG: 9:06am On Jul 30, 2025 |
dude:You are driving against traffic over a matter that is very simple. Wike is a stand-out appointee of Tinubu who has now become a fervent supporter of what the PBAT Presidency is trying to achieve. He has resolved to work for this Presidency to complete a maximum two terms he believes will benefit Nigerians immensely. No principled individual contests against a boss they believe is doing well. Rather they look to take over from that boss when his/her tenure is over. Wike's has exhaustively explained his decision to not contest against Tinubu. Nothing at all to do with the bolded in your post. |
| Re: What's Stopping Wike From Clinching The PDP Presidential Ticket by dude(m): 10:27am On Jul 30, 2025 |
WizardOfNG:You seem to lack simple comprehension. Where in his political or personal history has Wike ever demonstrated sound principle. His explanations lack meaning when analyzed against his political history. Did he demonstrate any principle to his relationships with the Amaechi's, Odili's or Jonathan's ? You can't be so naive to belive a political rhetoric as bolded. A simple glimpse at the political terrain will reveal Wike has no chance. He is not known to throw away any political opportunity that will favour him. He went solidly against an Amaechi under who he served as Local Government chairman, Chief of staff and was nominated as a minister. Wasted no time in turning against him when federal politics so dictated. Similarly recently sent verbal insults at the Odili's and Jonathan's who in no small measure saw him to being Governor and influencing the judiciary for him. Or where was such principle when he openly worked against his own party at the 2023 elections Not stopping their, he accepted an appointment the present administration while remaining a member of the PDP. How with a sane natural mind do.you equate such an individual with any kind of principle? You are either operating from a position of advanced ignorance or simply not being honest A simple and more plausible explanation is that Wike can't win the Presidency under the present circumstances and he knows it. Nothing to do with any principle. It is well known that Wike and principle exist on different planets |
| Re: What's Stopping Wike From Clinching The PDP Presidential Ticket by WizardOfNG: 10:35am On Jul 30, 2025 |
dude:I have no comprehension deficit. Perhaps you do. Wike has made his stance clear. You are the one who fails to accept that because the bolded in your post, which clearly shows you to be an emotional and sentimental character, has shown you clearly have issues with him and wish to drag Wike by fire by force. Good luck to you because, minus being mind-readers, most principled and objective folks would give Wike the benefit of the doubt and accept his explanation for why he will not run against Tinubu rather than continue insisting otherwise. |
| Re: What's Stopping Wike From Clinching The PDP Presidential Ticket by dude(m): 10:47am On Jul 30, 2025 |
WizardOfNG:Not surprising you failed to raise any meaningful counter points. Analysing the past is often the surest ways of predicting a future. Even in science, multiple established previous scenarios will often raise the probality of a likely re-occurence. Given your man's previous history, I will lay solidly that he has no loyalty to the president or the administration. It's simply a relationship of convenience. The PDP is fractured on all fronts and depleted beyond conviction. There is no 2027 Presidency for the party and anyone under any illusion can see it. Simple reason oga Wike won't attempt running. |
| Re: What's Stopping Wike From Clinching The PDP Presidential Ticket by Maxymilliano(m): 10:54am On Jul 30, 2025 |
Wike is not interested in contesting 2027 Presidential election. His main target is to serve as a Vice-presidential candidate in 2031, when power is expected to return back to north. That is why he's pushing himself to be a leading Southern candidate, grabbing as many PDP States as possible under his control while extending his influence across APC States in the South as well. With his perceived closeness to Tinubu, he'll railroad what is expected to be left of the PDP into the APC and have his way. |

WizardOfNG:Is Wike principled? |
| Re: What's Stopping Wike From Clinching The PDP Presidential Ticket by WizardOfNG: 11:22am On Jul 30, 2025 |
Ofunaofu:Oga, your question strays into the realm of subjective argument. Wike has declared the reason he will not run against PBAT. His utterances make perfect sense to those who are principled and objective enough to relate with the sensible reason he has given. So far most folks are not mind-readers, they can give Wike the benefit of the doubt without trying to make everything about what he did or said in 2002. You Obi fans should even be most predisposed to accepting Wike's utterances about not running against PBAT because Obi is a notorious liar and unprincipled hypocrity, "the day I leave APGA is the day I die" for example, yet you insist today all his utterances are sincere and gospel truth. |

Learning never ends, but HE@Wike is not a good learner so His political learning has ended,a situation someone who claimed to study law behaved like a thug.A general belief is knowledge lights the way but in his own case it blurs. |

flyinnizam:Well, that may have been Atiku's (intended) masterstroke in leaving PDP, with the hope that he stands a much better shot at the presidency with an "Amaechi" as a running mate, if Wike clinches the presidential ticket in PDP and Obi returning to Labour Party. The calculations are that with this arrangement, Tinubu's numbers will be whittled down. |
| Re: What's Stopping Wike From Clinching The PDP Presidential Ticket by stanluiz(m): 12:17pm On Jul 30, 2025 |
If wike fails to run for president in 2027, he is nothing but a shameless Coward! No more Atiku or tambuwal to stop him again. Let him rest his popularity let's see how far he goes. |
| Re: What's Stopping Wike From Clinching The PDP Presidential Ticket by stanluiz(m): 12:20pm On Jul 30, 2025 |
Maxymilliano:No presidential candidate from the north will make Wike his Vice president. If Atiku couldn't do it In 2023. Then, no body will do it. Wike is not sellable. You can't market him. That's the reason tambuwal did what he did in Pdp primary election in 2022. The same fate will befall him in Apc. |

That will be the worst miscalculation of all time. Almost every one in PDP is working for another party. PDP does not have a structure anymore, na name e just get. At this point, until tinubu loses an election, wike will not leave him |

dude:wike has been loyal and been on the same course with his masters except amaechi. Amaechi was the one that betrayed pdp, odili and Jonathan by conniving with his co devils to bring in the buhari govt. Till today, wike is on the same page with Jonathan that you are crying on his behalf. Jonathan made it clear he is not contesting for presidency anymore and will work for the re election of the same tinubu. Wike can be anything but not a betrayal, after the asaba conference were all the south south governors and stakeholders made a resolution that the next president must come from the South the like of okowa, obaseki and co betrayed wike by working to bring in atiku a northerner, going by the asaba agreement wike had to shop for another southern president to work for in the person of tinubu. The problem most of you have with him is because he chose tinubu over obi. It's funny how you call wike a betrayal but eulogies amaechi, okowa and co. He knows what he wants and he got it. Take it or leave he is in prime position to be the VP in 2031, that a northerner can't choose a wike as VP that's laughable because that's tinubus choice to make. |

Anybody picking PDP Presidential tickets just want to answer former PDP Presidential candidate. It is a waste of time and scarce resources. Tinubu has highjacked PDP through Wike. |
