What Is Holding Lagos State Government From Renaming Streets With Hausa Names by 21lucky(op): 11:46am On Jul 30, 2025
Lagos state government are busy renaming streets with igbo name or igbo personality.

While they have not bother to rename streets with Hausa or Fulani names.

Is this hypocrisy or something else?

The yorubas are afraid that if they tried to rename streets with Hausa name or Fulani names in Lagos that the Lagos state government will be impeached in the next 72hours and Hausas will stop feeding them.

Stop pretending and leave hypocrisy aside.
Your fellow yoruba man fashola said it is all about preserving yoruba culture and why allowing Hausa and Fulani street names In Lagos and renaming igbo street names or are Hausa and Fulani now part of yoruba culture.

No, it is not hypocrisy! Hausa and other tribes living in Lagos and anywhere else don't use to pass their boundaries. They are not arrogant or wish their hosts evils or chests beating everywhere. You will come to yoruba land to hussle, you will achieve your aims and then you begin to hate them and call them different bad and derogatory names. You will say their states are brown roofs despite they are sharing excesses of their money to cater for your states.

Your actions spoke louder than your voices, anywhere you are in the world; don't always cross your host's boundary, never takes their peaceful nature for stupidity. As they respect you, respect them. Don't try to arrogantly prove to them you are wiser and smarter than them, let them find out you are wise and call you when your service is needed.

They are sharing their resources and food with you, you bellefull and still holding their hands to abuse and insult them. In summary, learn not to cross your boundaries, maintain your lanes

You people have not yet answer my question.
Lagos state government and yorubas said they are changing Lagos streets with igbo names to yoruba names to preserve their yoruba culture and now my question is if you change streets with igbos names why leave Lagos streets with Hausa and Fulani names or is this not bias or sentimental or are the Hausa and Fulani now part of yoruba culture.

So you are trying to say that the Hausa and Fulani are part of yoruba culture and so the reason the Lagos state government did not rename lagos streets with Hausa and Fulani names?

The reason is very simple and straightforward. Yorubas and Hausa have been living with mutual understanding since very long ago. The census of Lagos by the colonialist do not even have records that Igbos existed in Lagos when Hausas have been living peacefully in Lagos.

Same in Ghana too. Hausas and Yorubas have been living there since long time ago until without wahala.

has any igbo ever killed a yoruba man in lagor or has there ever been any real evil war between yoruba and igbo other than the normal healthy economic rivalry which used to be fun before its elevated to politcal triablism, but there have been several clashes of war and attack with lives lost between youab and hausa several times even recently but yet its igbo thats the enenemy not the ones killing our people on our land..

we as yoruba has really lost it all becasue of political loyalty to tinubu and only God can save us, cos our real allies are the igbos even with all the normal rivalry we have been having for decades...

The northerners believe they own Nigeria. Lagos state is a part of Nigeria isn’t it?

They don’t need to tell you Lagos or any part of Southwest is no man’s land when they believe they own the country that houses all of them.

Stop running away from realities I raised, you questions are already answered but you are taking style to run away from it. What I raised is the bedrock of your issues, hausas and others are never being arrogant. You will not teach them whom they retain and whom they scold
