How can you be Igbo in Nigeria and feel at home—especially outside Igbo land? You buy land randomly and invest carelessly, then act surprised when you're victimized. I always tell Igbo people I meet outside Igbo land: even non-Igbos don’t truly have a country in Nigeria, let alone the Igbo—whom no other tribe wants to compete with. Here's the point: If you're investing outside Igbo land, make sure you have an equivalent investment secured at home. Today, you complain about being victimized by Westerners. By the next election cycle, you’ll be complaining about being victimized by Northerners. Yet, you never seem to learn. The truth is, the interest of these two regions in Nigeria is to drain it dry—and you're the only real obstacle to that. If you’re Igbo, understand this clearly: this country is not yours. Begin making strategic plans for an eventual exit. Do not place your major investments within Nigeria outside Igbo land. It’s not a complicated message. If Igbos start behaving like Jews, Indians, or even the Lebanese—by investing primarily in their homeland—the endless cycle of victimhood and targeting will begin to end. Being Igbo should mean being smart, strategic, and forward-thinking. No one is saying you shouldn’t build a good life or invest outside Igbo land. What we’re saying is simple: within Nigeria, only invest what you can afford to lose—especially outside your ancestral home. The signs are clear. |

You want them to return home and invest but same you will be the one drumming support for IPOB, ESN and whatnot to continue terrorizing Igbos in their region.. First start by asking your leaders to create business-friendly environment for the Easterners who love doing business to thrive at home. you need good roads, water and electricity supply, inland dry ports etc. Then you make efforts to keep your enclave safe and secure from terror groups. Stop the practice of covering up crimes because your brothers and sisters are the ones commiting them. The ugly outcome of crime won't differentiate Igbos from others that'll be at the receiving end. I'm sure over 80% of fak.e drugs and coun.terfeit products are right there in South East markets. Lastly, consider our acts as a goodwill to make your folks look towards home, think home and go home. It might turn out to be a blessing in disguise. |

We all know the country will soon disintegrate so it's a welcome development 🤗 I wish my yolo neighbors do more of these destroying mansions, disenfranchising people because they look fine, dress well and smell good and also renaming all Igbo sounding streets and bus stops. Let them even name ozumba mbadiwe to PORTABLE street seff we won't mind 😏 Anything to make the ih os face home squarely without waiting for our sellout politicians is a very welcome development ajē ![]() |

Honestly, I'm loving what's happening to SE folks. I don't know when they'll come to their senses. You see guys with no house in SE, but living in a large mansion in another region. The growing hostility in SW is killing the real estate industry in Lagos - if you're in the game, you know what I mean. The decline is sharp. All signs point to this country heading for doom, and forget about meaningful development or a decent standard of living. |

Direct Quotes from Sir Ahmadu Bello in the ever-popular 1960 BBC Interview. Q: "One thing I have noticed while I have been here is that northerners seem to have the worst form of obsession about the Igbos. Could you please explain that?" Ahmadu Bello: > “Well, the Igbos are mainly the type of people whose desire is to dominate everybody. If they go to the village or town, they want to monopolise everything in that area.” > “If you put them as a labourer, within a year they will try to emerge as the headman of that camp... and so on... well.” |

Nayturalistic:Do thr Ghanaians, South Africans, Thailand, Vietnam, Camerounians e.t.c also have this imaginary obsession? When Ahmadu Bello made this statement, this was around the same period Camerounians ran away from NIGERIA too due to the excessiveneness of your people too. |

Borrow2222:There is absolutely no decline in real estate in Lagos. Infact in so many parts of Nigeria. This sector remains a very hot cake. I have first have knowledge of this field with all due respect. Sincerely, what the op has raised are very good points. I hope his advice will be adhered to by 90% of his people. It is a very good advice. A word they say is enough for the wise. |

Nayturalistic:Let me address the Ahmadu Bello's quote you mentioned. Igbos love to dominate, do they do it at no cost? The lands they buy, build and dominate, did they acquire them for free. Do they mandate communities to give them lands like the Fulanis do for their cows to graze? If Igbos want to be supervisors at work places, are they qualified for the position or do they try to become supervisors with no qualifications? It's only a man with inferiority mentality that will be complaining of someone else trying to domimate him. If you don't want Igbos to dominate your land, then stop selling lands to them. Find another way to make money , work hard like your mates. If you want to stop them from being supervisors at your office, then get qualifiications, work hard and as dedicated as they are. I am a building contractor and I hire people for menial jobs. I know when someone is Igbo, Yoruba and Niger Deltan. Only an Igbo will do his job with so much dedication and zeal even though he may embezzle the whole thing on a Delilah's descendant at the end of the day. |

Borrow2222:This is not a Yoruba or Southwest issue—it's a basic survival instinct for laid-back humans. These people feel threatened by Igbo industry and resilience, and Igbo pride often makes that threat feel more visible and direct. The reason the Southwest appears to be the most vocal at this moment is because they perceive the Igbo as an additional obstacle in their own quest to extract from Nigeria in the same way the North already has. As I said earlier, the Igbo concept of justice and equity is a threat to all of them—whether Northerner or Westerner. This is why all Igbos should strive for an Igbo-only country. Not even the southern minorities can stay with Igbos in one country. Why do you think Africa is the most backward continent? It's constituent tribes are mostly laid back people. Igbo being different is a threat to them. That’s the real problem. Even the crude oil money they’re stealing—they can’t extract or refine it themselves, not even in a hundred years, without the help of the white man. Even if you dashed them all the oil in Nigeria, they still wouldn’t know what to do with it in terms of making life meaningful for their people.

Your thread would have been marvelous if it was out of sincerity to your people but the truth is, this thread just the same going around in circles. It's essence is still the same flaws which Chinua Achebe alredy described in his book, 'There was a country ' and without sentiment or bias, he described his people as having a behavior of " noisy exhibitionism and disregard for humility and quietness". There is nothing the Igbos have achieved as a tribe that Yorubas haven't achieved more. Your noisy exhibitionism and disregard for humility and quietness over little achievements is one very flawed character the breds resentment. This infact is your greatest challenge a disease you really need to uproot. |

If you ever think that Igbophobia will ever end in Nigeria, think again. We will keep warning our people to be circumspect. The worst may yet to come as long as Igbo remains in this British contraption. Igbo must learn from the Armenians that success, too much success breeds envy. |
