You make good points...Israel is afraid of an armed Palestinians, because of the atrocities they have committed in the name of fighting Hamas.
Only way there can be peace is to make them completely independent, Airport and business in Palestine and give them their passport and have a demilitarized zone between them, like we have in north Korea and south Korea. If Hamas drops their arms....Israel will kill all of them without batting an eyelid....They will kill Palestinians and Hamas alike.
