The biggest problem with the opposition is that they have assumed Tinubu wants a second term. They are gearing their energies towards fighting that.

Instead of really uniting and coming up with plans to sell to the people to convince them why they are better, they are using the same template of seeing Tinubu as the enemy.

I think if Tinubu asks for a second term, it is worth considering. The tax reforms, the student loans, the savings from subsidies, the forex harmonization, the coastal highways, development commissions, power sector reforms, and tackling insecurity would show more impact through the end of his first term and his second term.

The opposition cannot dare campaign against Tinubu's reforms. They have not tried it. So they just come up with a blanket "we are hungry". They have not articulated how they'd tackle hunger. Let them say they'd return fuel subsidy and explain where they'd get the money from. Let them say they'd cancel development commissions. Let them promise to cancel student loans. Let them promise to cancel the coastal highway. Let them say they'd reverse tax reforms meant to benefit the poor. Let them promise to restart a dual exchange rate regime. If they try it, they'd lose.
