The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has reacted to stiff opposition against President Bola Tinubu from the northern region ahead of the 2027 presidential election. DAILY POST reports that some stakeholders in the region have vowed that the president’s re-election bid may remain a mirage, citing alleged marginalisation of the North by the Tinubu-led administration. Recall that a former member of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Kazaure, on Wednesday said that Tinubu may lose the 2027 presidential election by 12 noon. Speaking during a gathering of northern elites, the former lawmaker condemned the administration’s continued borrowing and other ‘unwanted’ policies. Reacting, the spokesperson of the ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, in a post on his Facebook page, wondered how the president would secure his re-election amid the opposition from the North. According to him, the region produced 64 per cent of the votes that gave the All Progressives Congress, APC, victory in 2023. He wrote, “Arewa produced 64% of President Bola TInubu’s total votes in 2023, I don’t know how he is planning to secure his 2nd term bid without them, as they’re now clearly against his reelection.” 2 Likes

Can anybody here bet it? Tinubu has won already...so, don't even bother to wait till 12:00pm. If Buhari can win without south south and south east vote in the years 2014&2019. Why will Tinubu not win his own. Those talking nonsense about the Tinubu reelection from the northern political class are mostly people who were not in Asiwaju support in the last election and few of those that felt they are not carry along. LagosOrigin:Ona go dey online dey yarn dust. People with no voters card. Election is by strategies and calculations not emotions. People that will vote are where they are. Tinubu wont need the Northeners 60% votes to win again. He will have that 60% from the south. I doubt if Atiku will have the required 24 states to win. Election is still 2 years away and you failed campaigners don’t think that Tinubu will roll out a lot of modalities that will soften the hearts of Nigerians before then. I don’t support that type of politics but a strategy is a strategy. ADC that has a lot to do to be accepted at the grassroots are already thinking they can win. Have they been accepted yet? Not like Atiku or Obi will perform if they win. If for anything their govts will be worst. |
