This documentary takes you deep into one of the most impactful yet lesser-known infrastructure projects in Lagos — the construction of the Omu Creek Road and Bridge in Ibeju-Lekki LGA.

Located within the rapidly developing Lekki-Epe corridor, this project is not just about crossing a body of water — it’s about connecting people, unlocking farmlands, and laying the foundation for rural-urban integration. From deep piling works over swampy terrain to road access carved through untouched communities, we show you how this bridge is reshaping access between Epe and Ibeju-Lekki.

Lagos to link Sangotedo with Ito-Omu creek

Lagos State Government has embarked on a road and bridge project which will link Sangotedo in Eti Osa with Ito-Omu creek in Ibeju Lekki and Epe.

The Special Adviser to Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Infrastructure, Mr Olufemi Daramola, gave the assurance on Saturday, during an inspection of some projects across the state.

”Today, we are at the Omu Creek Road which is one of the strategic projects that is ongoing.

“It is a road of about five kilometres and about 600 metres bridge.

”It is about 1.1 kilometres from the Lekki-Epe Express Road. What we have witnessed today is really a big progress, there has been a lot of soil reclamation, a lot of soil replacement has gone on.

”We will be able to get to the point where the bridge work will start, a lot of soil investigation is going on, the progress is very commendable,” he said.

The special adviser also inspected the Ketu Alapere Pedestrian Bridge reconstruction.

Daramola said that the project would be completed in few months.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the bridge, which was constructed 11 years ago, was damaged by impact of a container-laden truck which attempted to manoeuvre under the bridge.

“Reconstruction of the damaged Alapere Pedestrian Bridge is ongoing.

There was a lot of work on the alignment. The Federal Government was working on the Third Mainland Bridge, and we had to synchronise the work.

”There is good progress, the foundation is done, the cast elements are all being set, the headroom will be improved, and in another couple of months – two, three months – I am sure that the project will be completed,” he said.

Daramola also said that the state government had embarked on rehabilitation of some link roads in the Ikoyi axis.

“The state government is also working on a network of roads in Ikoyi, Abayomi, MacPherson, Ilabere. Site visit shows that there is improvement.

“Contractors are on site, and we are having good milage.

Bus stop mourners are looking at the project but they can't relate.

All these they do in their place is celebrate sign boards, commission gutters, launch cemeteries and donate buckets as empowerment.

In Lagos, they kill kidnappers. Go and verify.

The last time, they killed 9 of them and bus stop mourners were crying that Lagos Police are killing their kinsmen.

How to know a f0ol. 90% of the funds being used to execute the project definitely is not coming from Lagos or even South West. Go and ask Google which state in Nigeria has the highest natural gas reserves. But illiteracy will not allow you to see clearly l.

Highest natural gas reserves but if you tell them to go back to their region, they will say you want to kpai them.

Ordinary bus stop change in Lagos and their entire region is organising crying competition. grin

Have you ever imagine a Lagos without Non-Yorubas? You might think you are targetting the Igbos, but after the Igbos, who? Because I could still remember when Northerners were hated crazily because of Abacha and IBB. Sagamu, Agege, Mile 12, Idi-Araba and other Northern communities were all flash points. Even Buhari and other Northerners were never loved by you until your 2015 alliance which was also due to your hatred for President Jonathan. Having said that, I enjoined those us who live outside our state of origin to always respect their host communities and avoid making provocative statements that are capable of triggering people. In other words, Yorubas and Igbos need to have more sense because they have been acting stupid lately.

During the civil war when Igbos left, do you know that Lagos experienced the highest rate of economic boom unmatched till date.
Go and verify.

Because you were not trained at home, everyone who is corrects you is termed hatred. That's why you have a list of more than 20 countries who are actively hunting you to get you out of their countries.

Nice one to the indigenes of Lagos State, and to all of us from Osun, Katsina, Gombe, Zamfara, Ondo, Ekiti , Kwara , Enugu, Anambra, Calabar, Akwaibom, Rivers , Ogun State etc that arrived by night bus to our Lagos State....

Hopefully I wish they will also construct on the Igbogbo- Orete bridge that connects Lagos Island too from Orete Ikorudu Lagos State

With that, I believe the land in Oreta side will triple in price...more business to us all in our Lagos State....

which farmlands are being unlocked in that axis?

is the government doing anything to protect farming or it is allowing these so called real estate developers to buy up whatever empty land exists in within the Ibeju-Lekki/Epe corridor?
