Redman44:None of them plays in the WNBA. Uginne Onyiah just joined a college team (Syracuse). |

Odogwujayy:Mozambique is stronger than Uganda and Mali. They always stress us than Mali and Senegal etc. I don't just know why the Mozambique ladies don't always avoid Nigeria and make it to the final . I believe our ladies will play better in the remaining games. |

lovewins:Onyiah and Abigor are Nigerian-Americans. We need a stronger squad for Berlin next year. Our current squad is ageing and then we really need some very gifted players that can turn games around. Kiki and Michaela should heed the call to play for Nigeria. I believe we have 4 spots on the D'tigress squad that are open for grabs towards the 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup. Cheers. |

Redman44:I mistook Onyiah got Izoje Uche who just got recruited to Syracuse, both of whom where invited to camp, but not sure why they didn't make it. Not sure any of Onyiah and Abigor are solutions to our situation though. Yes Kiki and Onyewere yes, but Abigor is a sophomore who averaged 2 points in her first year of college. She needs time to develop. |

D’Tigress will meet the winner between Cameroon and Angola on July 31 at 10pm Nigerian time.. Interestingly, Otis Hughley lost his first ever Women’s Afrobasket match, following Senegal’s loss to Uganda yesterday. |

It’s confirmed. 2025 Women’s Afrobasket quarterfinals: D’Tigress v Cameroon, later today, at 10pm Naija time.. |

PDPGuy:D'tigress need to be clinical at the basket and be very careful going forward. Some nations are really skillful at this tournament. We must not be complacent or we will pay for it. Teams like Ivory Coast and Mozambique can be very difficult to subdue. Ivory Coast being the host nation might want to spring a surprise if Dtigress meets them. Cheers. |

lovewins:Like I predicted, South Sudan just qualified for the Semi-Finals by beating Uganda. Amazing. |
| Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by PDPGuy(op): 3:13pm On Jul 31, 2025 |
Redman44:Exactly. But I think the ladies would have developed better chemistry after playing two games - one tough and ‘easy’ game. |
| Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by PDPGuy(op): 3:14pm On Jul 31, 2025 |
lovewins:Yeah. I won’t be surprised if they go all the way to the final. They’re that good |

Ami Okonkwo and Balogun dropping points in a big night. This is a very tough encounter but D Tigress will sail through to the semis. |

They're locked in. This will be an easy win. |
| Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by BascoVanVeli(m): 10:22pm On Jul 31, 2025 |
Great start. I love that they are not settling and driving straight to the basket. This will free their shooters up as the game goes on. |
| Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by mosdii(m): 10:27pm On Jul 31, 2025 |
The motivation is high, love the drive. Ami Okonkwo and Victoria Macaulay have been exceptional |

If we overcome Cameroun tonight, the game against Senegal will be EPIC. We just have to really play well. |
