It seems Trumps real agenda is to impoverish Russia into ending this nasty war. He is using sanctions rather than spending US funds to achieve that goal which isn't a bad idea.

Russia may simply have no choice but to sell its crude oil at massive discounts to sustain sales. If 25% isn't enough, it may be jacked up further. I feel 100% would be the magic number to crush Putin.

Russia can hurt the US more. Russia is the number 1 supplier of enriched Uranium in the world today. The US gets almost 80% of it's enriched uranium from Russia. No other country comes close.

So Russia can cripple US nuclear power with just one swoop.

Russia have had back to back budget surplus for the past 4 years. When was the last time the US had a budget surplus? Let's not even talk about the $37 trillion debt.
