If We Say NO to Tariff Tariff Impositions,what about the US, shortening the Innocent 😇 Nigerians( Business Men, Entrepreneurs, Students,etc) On The Visas - by US govt - reducing the Nigerian Stay in US - from 5- yrs To just 3-Months -because this is Punishment by Trump and these Nigerians have Not Committed any Offence,but just because the Nigerian Govt don't allowed President Trump agenda of bringing the Deportees from Certain Latin -America Countries to serve their Jail Tem here, in Nigeria!

Oga how will it affect us because of copart, home depots, copart etc? The tariff is on exports from Nigeria to the US ie goods Americans buy from Nigeria of which their importers will pay the duties, either they absorb it or pass on to the American public.
The way his tariff affects us is based on our exports to America eg oil, lead, gas, African foods etc, the 15% tariff will apply to them making our exports less competitive in price compared to countries with less tariff or lower operating costs.
Oga the other countries that will replace our exports to the US are not there or have tariffs on them, besides the bulk of our exports and imports is to China, India etc. Infact I think we have a trade deficit with the US, we import more from them than they export to US. Eg dangote is now a major importer if American oil, we import American used cars (copart), we get items from Walmart etc. Na we surprise put tariff on American goids, but you know the funny thing? We already have tariffs on them, the import duty of eg 25% you pay on a car or okirika cloths imported from the US is nigerian tariff on US goods.
Bottomline, our businesses are not vulnerable to American tariffs as it is now. We are just like Russia who does practically no business with the US, that us why Trump is threatening secondary tariffs on other countries doing business with the US.

Donald Trump is too stupid to know that the it is the citizens of the country that buys imported goods that pay whatever tarriffs are imposed. So American citizens will be paying more for imported items from Nigeria.

Tarriffs stifle demand across all chains of production. With reduced demand comes slowing down of the economy and rise in unemployment levels. Economic depression can result from arbitrary tarrif applications as we see Trump doing here.

The last time this utterly insane blanket tarriffs was done was in 1930. The Smoot–Hawley Tariff Act, passed in the US, caused the worst global economic depression in human history. Trump is too stupid to understand the cascading and boomeranging effects of what he just did.

In all this, the winner is China as more countries will seek to improve relations with them. The world cannot keep tolerating American bullying for long.

you really need to see it from the other lens. This Tarrifs will reduce import of goods produced in other countries, increase consumption for America alternatives, thereby bringing in more revenue and creating lots of domestic jobs in USA.

America cannot be having trade deficits for all countries in the name of big brother. China won't try this with you. I support Trump on this move.

Perhaps Nigeria should use the oil themselves (ourselves). See, if the oil stays here, do you know the number of social issues that will be solved just like that? With oil, we can innovate, earn quality education, maintain electricity, transport food easily from farm to table. Meanwhile, if we sell the oil (and continue to), whoever is in government (In Nigeria) just earned more money that will be stolen anyway! The citizens suffer and will continue to. This is not a curse - rather a cause and effect situation.

The major problems we face in Nigeria are social issues. Once this is taken care of, people will live a more contented life and be satisfied in some way. People are only chasing money because it is scarce. People are choosing "japa" simply because quality social life does not exist even if you are making millions of Naira per month.

Ignore the fool, he's passing the additional cost of living to his citizens.. Nigeria should not negotiate. The cost of the tariff should be added to the cost of our products and passed on to the US consumer. That's what most of the self-respecting countries are doing. They will tariff themselves into final bankruptcy.

When their American market is unstable people move their business elsewhere. China used to out of pity buy American beef they just changed to Australian beef better quality cheaper price. Nobody is standing still them just no dey shout like the loud speaker President.

How does one think you can fight with the whole world and survive it. I just pity the average American.

Anything one buys from America you can get it cheaper somewhere else. Especially when people realise most of their food is laced with harmful chemicals.
