He will never be President. He knows it deep down and this is why he is begging and making pledges he does not have to plus meeting characters like Sheik Gumi , Malami etal. Commonsense shows Obi is done because his Impressionable Obidients worshippers see him affiliating with and grovelling before those they believed he is seeking the Presidency to fight and dismiss ( the likes of the likes of Gumi, Malami, Hadi Sirika, Babachir Lawal etal) so that Nigeria can flourish.
