I never thought I will see the day northern politicians will be advocating for investors , while government of the west is neck deep into tribal sentiment. Strange days we live in. |

MufasaLion:. I disagree with you, sir. It's better to place more value on one's life than chasing money all in the name of doing business in that bandit infested region. Apart from banditry issue, they can wake up tomorrow and treat you like the SA xenophobic guys. All it takes is one one blasphemous statement and you're in trouble: all your investment gone in a jiffy. |

Ritchiee:A lot of people are just getting to know this. Another thing I have noticed especially on nairaland here is the absence of one tangible business owned by an Igbo person abroad. Anytime I research,it is easy to see Yoruba businesses abroad than see one owned by an Igbo person. There is one Texem something owned by a Northerner,am still trying to get more information on that firm. I love that Nigerians have businesses abroad because we need more and more foreign exchange. ![]() |

Hmmm. Good move. When you have exhausted every resource within your country then it makes sense to look outwards and abroad for investment. If this country was a proper federation with states given broader powers to control their economies I believe this country will have been far ahead. Centralization since independence has been a major retardant to competitive governance with most states hiding behind the limitations of allocations and the excuses of Federal domination. |

OnionBandit:U don't understand importation. There are certain goods u can't bring into Nigeria without going through the dealer who gas bought the monopoly within the west Africa region. And that monopoly is so strong that the manufacturer would only refer u back to the west Africa dealer. Leave business for igbo men...what u don'tunderstand, can't be understood. When I say many of u would buy some items in Aba and Onitsha u think I am bragging. It has already started but soon to escalates if this ur hatred continues. Let me it break it down for u to understand. When Glaxosmithcline left Nigeria, what they did was to interface with a dealer in Nigeria who is their only middle man...without that middle man u can't get their product in to the country...that is how important is. Every other dealer would buy from this middle man and if out of hatred u guys calls him to move his goods to East out of hate and stupidity,u guys would buy the Beecham products in Aba and Onitsha. That is the chain and one secrets u guys don't know about. |

Noneroone:Igbos go home and invest in your land. Sell all your stakes in other parts of Nigeria and return home to invest in your own land before you lose them to your jealous and envious countrymen who treat you like you have no land to call your own. |

Igbos should not fall for the trap. Is it not these same Governor that ignored millions of indigenous Christians in Bauchi and closed down all Private/ Public Primary, Secondary and Universities in the state for over one month because of Ramadan. Which business man will like to do business in that kind of environment with extremist ideology. Just one so called Blasphemy they will burn down people's shops. 2 years ago they adopted Hausa as official language of the state, Contractors might need to employ an interpreter for them to do business with Government. Bala is not serious. |

Ibechris2:It's here already bro. You need to see how vehicles from different parts of Nigeria, especially far north, packed with textiles and other wares move heavily out of Aba every Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with less of it on Thursdays and Fridays. Today, Sunday they've already arrived from the North and SW waiting for Tuesday because no movement tomorrow, hotels are filled already. |

christejames:You don't actually know what happened back then 2013, Particularly in Bauchi state to Igbo traders ? And you don't know what is going on now with Igbo traders in Bauchi state now. Don't be deceived with the governor calling, it's just politics. They've already kill the markets. Take over all the markets with bad pricing. Trying to sell himself as friendly to Igbo. |

It's the west that is taking over the mantle of Igbophobia from them and, Lagos will pay for it.[/quote]Lagos is setting a very bad precedent. And they will learn in a hard way. The earlier they retrace their steps the better! A word is enough for the wise!!! |
