Not in all cases bro. I and a friend once applied for NNPC job fews years back. We wrote aptitude test, my friend was successful and got the job with no connection whatsoever.

I got Federal Government job twice without knowing or talking to anyone.
I applied, I sat for the examinations/aptitude test and was called for interview and was eventually called to come and pick up my appointment letters.

I had started working in my present place before the second letter of appointment came out so I went to collect the letter but after much thought I decided to remain in where I had already started.

Not really.. You will have to keep your ears to the ground for any information regarding their employments particularly after it has been published in the daily newspapers either online or offline.

Most lecturing jobs require you to have at least a B.Sc and an M.Sc and some publications.
Lecturing jobs typically do not write aptitude tests. They go direct for interviews where you will show them your credentials and publications (if any)

Secondly, I heard exams/aptitude test would be next, but no date has been fixed yet. Does anyone know the Exact date?
Thirdly, what and what do I need to study ahead of the test?. What are the kind of questions involved? I was told it's Mathematics, English and current affairs. How true is this?
Lastly, how much is the salary for starters when you get a federal civil service job. I can see Grade Level 8 on the dashboard. Does this mean that if I succeed(by God's grace), I would start from level 8?

You can start from level 17, just go with your bargain skills.

Pay close attention to the portal to know where you are to do your documentation. if you are based in abuja ,go to the federal civil service commission headquarters in zone 4 wuse . go to your state commissioners office for regularisation with all your documentation,credentials ,state of origin, hand written acceptance letter ,NYSC certificate and kola for the secretary of the commisioner so that they can streamline your regularisation ,which would entail opening a file at the federal civil service commission .if you no drop kola na another person document dem go put for the file wey dem open for you.Dem do me inspite of 5k kola. na God talk say i follow up. when you have a federal civil service commission file number. abeg write it somewhere and keep carefully as this is your first evidence of acceptance of appointment. you will be told to come back for temporary appointment letter. collect the secretary's number after droping kola so that they can call you for your letter which would indicate where you are being posted to. when you get your temporary appointment letter .go to ministry of education where you are to do another documentation. once documented they will tell to check back for posting letter.after you posting letter you are expected to resume immediately. after 2 years you will then do a confirmation exam which is an aptitude test in current affairs , civil service rules and financial regulations. try buy the books to study, if you no read am you fit fail. meanwhile salary of level 8 Education officer is about 120000, which they wouldnt pay until about three months maybe more because of the bad system. after resuming make sure you still dey hustle and be very ingenious .most likely you will be posted to a government school as a teacher based on your area of specialization. the first few months go be like say you offend God as you will be frustrated about the salary because they haven't captured you for payment. no loose hope but when them begin pay you,you will stabilise small by small. no go do anyhow when you see you salary arrears. na to package you life for stability as you fit no see that lump sum in another two years if you lucky ,where you are included in programs by the Ministry. otherwise low key life will save you.be Good at what you do so you are a force to recon with and enjoy inclusion in the scheme of things. or else na only salary you go see and e no reach anywhere.while at the job, develop you capacity from analog education officer to digital education officer. you go see analog there plenty, na you must polish yourself before them see you. eye service plenty , no join group wey dey lobby.if the oga wey lead them go,or he works his posting to another MDA,the new clique will victimize you all. just respect all and sundry and be the best at what you do. offer intellectual and job related assistance where you can as real relationships with people matters.You go dey alright. at the same time plan you japa moves .civil service job just carry name. the bar is shit

Thanks for creating this topic as I contact my sister immediately after coming across this post, when I asked her if she had any news about the shortlisted, said no but I told her to check, behold she was equally shortlisted. Just that it was only two state that can be selected within the southwest which are Osun and Lagos State.

You are going to apt by submitting 25 copies of your credentials /CV and after the shortlisting, you will write a theory exam, if pass you will do another exam CBT and if pass, you will then do an interview and once you make it,a test message will be sent to you to report at the sch register to pick your appointment letter.
