Hi everyone, I’m trying to register on AVIS and start the visa application for my parents while still keeping the DS-160 open (un-submitted) in order to quickly pick any date available next year but after creating a profile, it’s saying “USER IS INACTIVE” on AVITS, is it mandatory to submit the DS-160 now before someone can go ahead to apply for the visa cos I was wondering what could be the issue. Please enlighten me 🙏🏾

Also make sure the agent did not lie on your form cos na ban for life be that one.
I don't know why you used an agent when you could have gotten all your answers here. Do ensure you know what the agent filled in the form. Hopefully it is the truth. If you lie or present any fake document. They will ban you from travelling to the US for life.

Na my sponsor get d agent for us and he got January for my family but rescheduled it cos of the heat wey dey dat time. He now rescheduled to August.

The agent sent us a PDF form that we filled which he would have used to fill the online forms

no go lie cos I dey work( salary no reach sha) and I don go Dubai and Ghana B4. I dey gather my pension balance letter, 3 land wey I get, leave approval and other docs for my family wey we go submit. Na confirm pof we go submit too cos my sponsor dey try.

Wetin dem dey use 3 months visa do again?

The reason is that the applicant data might have exist on avits portal before. Try to confirm because I have passed through such and that's the reason for user inactive.

It is now mandatory to fill your ds 160, to sign it and submit finally before initiating the booking of your visa appointment. The U.S embassy lay emphasis on this rule twice and in one of their posts they reiterated " Do not start this application if you have not filed and submitted your ds-160. However, that is not the reason for your USER INACTIVE. 👍

I also work as a researcher in an Agricultural research institute with 7 years of experience. I would love to visit John Deere factory in Illinois. John Deere produces tractors that we use in our institution and other agricultural equipment. My children can visit Disneyland before they resume in September

Then do it legally, you can NOT and should NOT Japa with a B1/B2 (non immigrant) visa. It will affect all of us and that’s wickedness.

Hello everyone, please I need guidance on what to do, I applied for visit Visa in Nov 2023 for an event in July 2024 Florida, the date of appointment I got then was Aug 28th 2025, the organisers of the event invited me for another one in New York slated for October 2025, what do I need to do to allign my details with the embassy here?

Follow these steps to generate the number for payment:
1. Fill your DS 160 here- https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/
2. Create a profile on AVITS- https://www.usvisaappt.com/visaapplicantui/signup
3. From your dashboard, click on "create new"
4. Follow all prompts until you get to the payment page
5. On the payment page, the amentum number for payment will generated. This is what you will use to pay the visa fees

We are trying to book flights now and we see that united airlines will layover in texas for 2 hrs nd go from there. Do we need a transit visa to do this? Does anyone have any info please?
