Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has suggested that Christians won’t support the presidential ticket having former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Mr Peter Obi come 2027.


Keyamo claimed that Nigerian pastors won’t come out to campaign for an 80-year-old Muslim president.

The Minister stated this while fielding questions on Channels TV’s Sunday Politics.


He said: “I want to do small expo, but it’s an expo that will not help them either way. Do you know what they are working on is that they want to bring Peter Obi and Atiku together.

“Once you make Obi the deputy to Atiku, the Christian demography will pull out of that 6 million votes Obi won in 2023.

“Don’t forget that the President also has a pastor who is a wife. So that Christian demographic we will snatch some of them and increase our votes.


“Don’t forget too that South-East demography that supported him, once it’s Atiku, they will pull out. They will not support him.

“The pastors cannot come out campaigning for an 80-year-old Muslim president. They will not do that. So they will lose that demography.”

Maybe not. But neither will they campaign for an 82 year old tribalistic man that has clearly failed to deliver. APC leaders shouldn't be found stoking religious, tribal and regional sentiments as an election-winning strategy. Show us your report card instead. 2023 dynamics will be quite different from 2027 because in 2023, Tinubu had the benefit of doubt. He's now been tested and has failed to deliver. "I built Lagos" will no longer sell in 2027.

Keyamo the dafti, between the 80 year old Atiku, who has not been tested and between the 82 year old Tinubu, who has been tested and he failed woefully, whom do you think pastors will campaign for?

why una election is about tribe , religion only not competency indeed this a Failed society

Atiku doesn't need pastors campaigning for him to win the election. He just needs PO not running in another party and that's game over for Tinubu.

Who needs pastors? This is politics not religion. Atiku doesn't need a pastor or group of pastors to win 2027 presidential elections. Tinubu must pack out of Aso Villa come 2027

They are already campaigning for them in many churches. I believe he doesn't go to church.If he knows how pastors are condemning this government everywhere and day.They are warning thr members to never make the mistake of 2023 to avoid the suffering they are facing now.Many families can hardly take care of thr families and no longer can they afford to support thr church growths financially
