You see why pressure is on Naira and it isnt gaining as much value as it should? In our top 10 import list, 6 can be locally produced. |

Let this marketers rest and that why I will like. Obi for president... He will simply place a ban on them... That was exactly how the cement industry grew... The govt of ObJ barred import to help local manufacturers... Tinubu is supposed to do same to save the sector.. but no! He is busy with 2027 politics |

Let Dangote reduces his profit margins by bringing prices down, importers would be forced to patronise him, and let the regulators make sure the importers not allowed to bring substandard to the country, because of differences in prices. Our concern as masses is to buy cheaper and quality petrol and less concerned about who produce the product. |

In the old days when God wants to punish people, he would harden their hearts and bring a leader that would completely break them and shatter any dreams and hope the people ever had. When this man finish with Nigeria, Somalia embassy would be filled with visa applications from Nigerians. |

iwaeda:They are a dying tribe ![]() They have not learnt their lesson. Only pooling resources to build , operate, refine and supply your own channels can keep their heads above water. The game is up. Most of them are in serious debt and struggling to compete only out of ego. In few days time, Dangote Refinery will launch its 4,000 CNG-powered trucks to directly deliver PMS to outlets so while they are waiting for PMS that's still on the high seas, Dangote Refinery and the other local refineries have serviced orders and cornered the market. Lobatan. NIPCO Plc, umbrella body of independent marketers, was buying hotels everywhere when it was swimming in profit instead of building refineries. Smh. They should use their hotels to refine crude nah. They lack visionary leaders but rich in very narrow business-minded leaders.

Cos they are Tinubu boys. Corruption and production cant go hand in hand. Buhari settled his brother my creating refinery Tinubu will settle his people by permitting the importation. Nigeria is the loser at the end |

This strains the economy, perhaps otherwise is a sabotage. It underscores the need for functional domestic refineries for stability. |

It's for both Dangote and the other marketers. If the marketers aren't making profit importing, they'll stop. Dangote has the option of crashing local prices. He just doesn't want to do it because he wants to maximize profits. All we want is affordable fuel, as long as the necessary regulatory bodies are making sure that the quality of imported products meet required standards. |

In surmarry, it means that dangote is overpriced for importers to see room to make a margin. |

Tinubu has been flogging Dangote since he came to power no matter how the man has bent to accommodate his wishes because he is on revenge mission that Dangote supported and financed the opposition during last election. |

The reason madketers are raving mad with unholy boldness is because those who currently run the country are also part of the marketers. They have massive business interests in the sector and dont want it dominated by dangote and local refinery. If someone like Peter Obi who has zero interest in corruption is elected, all of these will end in a matter of monthd |

iwaeda:Let them keep ignoring local refineries and importing fuel. When the ones buying locally start selling cheaper and getting all the customers, those marketers will be stuck with their imported fuel. |

| Re: Fuel Imports Surge To 71% As Marketers Ditch Local Refineries by seunmsg(m): 9:28am On Aug 04, 2025 |
Sirseedorf:Marketers are not the problem but Dangote. If marketers who import PMS are still able to compete with Dangote price wise, then Dangote is the problem. Dangote can easily take over the market through better pricing model. If imported products are still cheaper or at the same rate with locally refined products, then there is no basis to stop importation. |
| Re: Fuel Imports Surge To 71% As Marketers Ditch Local Refineries by professorPABX: 9:29am On Aug 04, 2025 |
CodeTemplarr:Tinubu, this is highly unacceptable. From 2022 to May 2023 we fought spiritually and mentally to bring this Government to power, you must do something now. Give PMS and AGO importers a 4 or 5 months IMPORT BAN notice. From November 30th or December 31st of this year, there should be no more PMS, AGO and Aviation fuel importation. This notice is to enable the importers close the deals they had with their overseas Refineries. It will also enable DANGOTE Refineries and other local refineries scale-up their facilities and storage tanks with PMS and AGO that can meet local demand for 6 months if their refineries should develop fault during the Importation BAN period. NNPC is afraid of ENERGY CRISES should local refineries failed to meet demand. If Government Ban Importation and DANGOTE Refineries breakdown or unable to meet local demand this will create serious energy crises. Government should give 4 or 5 months notice before the total BAN . NNPC should monitor local refineries to be sure they have enough reserve for at least 5 months before the ban. |

| Re: Fuel Imports Surge To 71% As Marketers Ditch Local Refineries by CodeTemplarr: 9:36am On Aug 04, 2025 |
professsorPABX:Monopoly to Dangote and one or two modular refiners around. Bad idea. Import should be pegged at around 25% local consumption volume and increased if found favourble or decreased if otherwise. |
