Hello Nairalanders,

In the last few months, I’ve been helping students (and myself) find and apply for fully funded international scholarships and I’ve learned what truly works, especially in 2026.

A lot of people miss out not because they’re not qualified, but because they don’t know the process or where to start.

Let me share my exact strategy that’s been working for me and others:

✅ My 5-Step Scholarship Strategy (2026)

1. Use Social Media Smartly
Twitter, LinkedIn, and even Facebook groups are goldmines for scholarship info most people aren’t using them right.

2. Follow Legit Platforms
Websites like OpportunityDesk, Scholars4Dev, and a few more I shared in detail on my blog help you track the best opportunities.

3. Prepare a Personal Statement Early
Don’t wait until the deadline is near write a general one and edit it per application.

4. Avoid Paying Agents
Every real scholarship is free to apply for. If someone is charging to “process” it, walk away.

5. Join Active Scholarship Groups
Being in the right Telegram or WhatsApp group gives you access to what others are applying for and how.

📌 I explained everything clearly and listed ongoing 2025 opportunities here:

Hungary (Stipendium Hungaricum, full funding + monthly stipend)

That’s great to hear having unconditional admission already puts you ahead! 🎓

Most fully funded scholarships cover both tuition and housing, and some even include a monthly stipend for living expenses, depending on the country and sponsor.

To help you better, could you share which country or school offered you the admission? I can suggest scholarships that match your profile.

Also, I recently shared a list of 2024 scholarships (some still open now) that cover both tuition and accommodation. You can check them out here 👉 https://africanbase.com.ng/fully-funded-scholarships-for-nigerian-students-in-2025

Let me know if you want help with the personal statement or funding options related to your specific program.

I'm interested in scholarship. Housing, tuition or both. I currently have unconditional admission.

Which country has the best full scholarship packages for international students now with high acceptance rates... Countries in mind: Germany, Canada, USA. How will you rate them? and many other ones?

SocialJustice:
University of Salford, United Kingdom. I already received Global Excellence Silver Scholarship of £2500. I need more to cover the outstanding tuition of almost £10k.

That’s impressive congrats on getting the Global Excellence Silver Scholarship from Salford! 🎉 £2,500 is a good start.

Since you still need to cover around £10,000 in tuition, you may want to look into:

Top-up scholarships (some schools and NGOs offer partial add-ons for admitted students)

External funding bodies that support Commonwealth students or Nigerians in the UK

Tuition support grants from local/state government or private orgs (e.g., PTDF, NDDC, MTN Foundation)

Part-time remote freelance jobs that can help while waiting for full clearance or visa

Let me know your course I might be able to suggest a few more scholarship databases based on your field.

That’s a solid question and it honestly depends on what you're looking for (funding amount, ease of application, post-study visa, etc). But here’s a quick ranking based on fully funded scholarship availability + acceptance rate:

🇩🇪 Germany

✅ Tuition-free education (even for internationals)
✅ DAAD offers full scholarships for PG programs
✅ Low cost of living in some cities
❌ Language can be a barrier unless you're applying to an English-taught course
🎯 Rating: 8.5/10 for PG studies

🇨🇦 Canada

✅ Quality education + safe environment
✅ Scholarships like Vanier, Lester B. Pearson, and provincial awards
✅ Some schools offer entrance scholarships
❌ Very competitive, and many scholarships are partial unless you have exceptional grades
🎯 Rating: 7.5/10 for UG, 8/10 for PG

🇺🇸 USA

✅ More fully funded scholarships than any other country (Fulbright, Mastercard Foundation, university-specific)
✅ Some schools cover tuition, housing, and even health insurance
❌ Application process can be lengthy; many require SAT/IELTS/GRE
