Am telling you. They've made us proud 👏 so they deserve to be rewarded handsomely.

Rewarding them is fine, but $100k is just too much, especially when we have doctors, nurses, soldiers, and teachers complaining of poor salary and work infrastructure.

A $10k or $15k bonus would still be with reasonable range!

England Women won the Women Euros but we didn't see the country splash so much on them.

Again, thousands soldiers at the warfront and can't boast of even 100k monthly.

This is not about politics but common sense.

Clearly shows that the government doesn't care about the masses. They have no idea the struggles of the average Nigerian. Just dishing out money like its from their personal wallet.

This is an example of when you do a good thing but infuse some damages into it.
Few things I have against this:
1. As the head of the house, you don't denigrate your house. Announcing reward to Nigerians, should not be done in US dollars (whether you call it equivalent or not.) Leave the equivalency to those who want to convert their cash reward.
2. These largesse is running into millions of dollars. Is this sustainable each time our athletes wins international laurels? Notwithstanding as many sectors including security and healthcare can use all the extra allocation that they can get.
3. The head coach should at least get the same amount, if not more than the players.
4. Within few days that the players wins the tournament, the Presidency is ever ready to roll out the red carpet. If there is any mishap in the country, you will hear all kind of excuses from Govt and their supporters on why the President can't be everywhere and why he cannot reschedule other activities to attend to National tragedy.

Even though , this is supposed to be a good gesture, I am thoroughly disappointed with the Tinubu government.

Subsidy removal and floating of the Naira killed the economy in literary terms.
Petrol became a luxury resource hence it affected transportation which was the lifeblood of the economy.
