Lere Olayinka Reacts As INEC Lists Nwosu, Abure As ADC, LP Chairmen by TimeManager(op): 10:55pm On Aug 04, 2025
Lere Olayinka, Special Adviser on Media to former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reacted following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) official recognition of Chief Ralph Nwosu as the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Julius Abure as the Chairman of the Labour Party (LP).

Olayinka made the disclosure on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, where he shared INEC’s latest update on the leadership status of both parties. The move comes after months of internal wrangling and legal tussles that have caused confusion within both political platforms.

Reacting, he said; ADC and Labour Party EXCO as recognized by INEC as at today.

According to INEC’s official release, Chief Ralph Nwosu remains the National Chairman of the ADC, a position he has held for years amidst criticisms and factional disputes. Similarly, Julius Abure was reaffirmed as the duly recognized National Chairman of the Labour Party, based on recent court rulings that cleared up the legitimacy of his leadership.

INEC also named Alhaji Said Baba Abdullahi as the ADC’s National Secretary, while Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim was recognized as the Labour Party’s National Secretary.

If anything, you want to give it to Lere for his mastery in neck pressing, and he doesn't just press it but he also skillful at holding the neck down like a black belt.

Incase you forgot, APC had their NEC this past week and Nenwate Yilwatda has already been recognized by INEC. While ADC had their kangaroo NEC couple of weeks before.

Jokers. Same INEC monitored proceedings at the recent NEC Meeting of the ADC. APC should get serious and prepare for the elections in 2027. Currently, they are acting like they're the opposition party.

Okay. Why are you then crying more than the bereaved. You should be happy. Tinubu will be declared president unopposed. Why is he still sending Gbaja and Co to go beg the North? Didn't he check the INEC website?

Well, it's still a win-win situation for ADC. If truly Ralph Nwosu is recognized by Inec, it reaffirms his leadership grip on the party contrary to the claims of their former presidential candidate, Kachukwu and his accomplices who have been going around barking and bluffing by claiming otherwise. All that's required is for the i's to be dotted and the t's to be crossed by both the old and the new leadership.

So, Lere should chill, the coalition is on course.

You don't understand. Nwosu was the last officially recognized Chairman whose tenure is officially over, the position of a new Chairman is in limbo which leaves with no officially recognized Chairman as of today pending court determination.

This is not a big deal. ADC can still hold a congress and change the party's leadership.

Don't worry, any good student of Nigeria's political history would never be bothered about the possibility of only one party going into an election unopposed in Nigeria. Any person or group of persons that try it would have themselves to blame. Even the military tried it under Abacha, the rest is now history. Just allow Inec and the ruling class to continue with their macabre dance.

It's an eye opener to those claming they won the 2023 presidential election but rigged out. Only a coalition with popular candidate (not mob popularity but the one with national spread) stands a chance of countering Inec and APC machinations. As at today, only Atiku fits that description and stands far above the rest.

The mere mention of Atiku Abubakar’s name shows you all are helplessly hopeless, u have no candidate in 2027.

Even if Nwosu is bought, I believe Atiku will still have plan B unless he decides not to contest The bottomline is that Obi cannot defeat Tinubu as a presidential candidate in 2027 nomatter the packaging and alliance with any northern VP candidate . It's an exercise in futility just like 2023

The same way nobody wanted to hear the name of Tinubu in 2023 but he became president.
My friend, this is not about sentiment or emotion, no other candidate North or South can match Atiku's national popularity.as at today. Virtually all the factors that worked against his victory in the past are now in his favour.
