Pair Traded: XAUUSD (Gold)
Result: ✅ Win – +100 pips

Today’s trade was a solid reminder that patience and structure win.
I started the day with a bullish bias after yesterday’s strong daily candle. I don’t sell unless price is below the daily low, so my focus was on buying. Missed the early London move (don’t trade Asian session), so I waited for the right H4 setup.
A bearish H4 formed with a high at 3376, and the next candle broke above and closed bullish at 3382, but news dropped immediately after so I stayed out. On M15, I watched two bearish candles form post-news, then a strong bullish M15 cleared their highs at 3380, giving me the clean confirmation I needed.
Entry: 3380
SL: 3375
TP: 3390
TP smashed – 100 pips secured.

What went well:
✔️ Followed structure and waited for confirmation
✔️ Stayed disciplined around news
✔️ Didn’t force early entries

Lesson: Let the setup come to you clarity and patience beat impulse every time.

Trading Journal – XAUUSD (Gold)
Result: ✅ +100 pips

Today’s trade was on XAUUSD. Yesterday, I was expecting the bulls to push above 3400, but they couldn’t break it. That failure made me question bullish strength going into today, so I came into the market with two possible scenarios:

If I saw a clear bullish structure, I’d buy from around 3385.

If not, I’d stay patient and wait for a clean break of the daily low.

During the London session, a bearish H4 candle formed, and the low of that candle sat at 3370. I marked that level as my key trigger. I dropped to the H1 timeframe to refine my entry and saw that the 3370 level had broken. I didn’t rush in I waited for H1 to close bearish, which it did at 3373. After that close, I still waited for the H1 low to be cleared before entering.

Once the low broke, I sold at 3369, placing my stop loss above the H1 high at 3377. Since I wasn’t entirely comfortable with bearish momentum, I decided to manage risk closely. When price reached 3364, I moved my SL to breakeven (3369). Eventually, my take profit at 3359 was hit for a clean 100-pip gain.

Key insight from this trade:
Patience and structure saved this setup. I wasn’t trading based on emotions or guessing i waited for confirmation across multiple timeframes. Also, moving my SL early helped remove emotional pressure and made it easier to let the trade play out.

What went well:
I waited for multi-timeframe confirmation before entering.
Managed risk properly by adjusting SL once price moved in my favor.

What didn’t:
I lacked full conviction in the setup and was close to staying out I need to trust my process more when the structure is clear

What I’d do differently:
Next time, I’ll work on building more confidence

However, I find that I get bored trading and most people I meet are comfortable with the norm. I’ve developed a bad habit of trading Asian session to London session and sleeping through USA session .. looking for no nonsense traders for healthy competition, knowledge exchange and to stay sharp.
