And how that relates to BETTER.

I've bn to both places.... I must however acknowledge that I'm no agronomist...kenyan friends i hv who hv bn here say the weather's better too....what I dont know is what the effect may be on dairy milk production.

But my hometown had a dairy farm and recently whilst bein resuscitated... cows from colder countries were brought in...those cows dont look to hv bn suffering when I last saw them so a believe these ones too will survive...my only fear is with their maintenance and healthcare..not our pasture or weather.

If this is your knowledge based.. you can enlighten us on it pls...m not a propagandist so I am very open to learning

it depends what you are trying to achieve what is better for cassava is not so for grapes
Catfish do not do well in Jos

Weather is not only temperature pattern of Rainfall matters

The kind of rain we have in the south is not the same In the n*orth and not good for all crops

With regard to cows and milk production
There are cows that are bred because they have good genes for beef and others for milk
Traditionally West Africans do not drink milk as adults and have not kept cows for milk except some Fulani

Compared to the high yield cows around the world Fulani cows have very low milk production
Many cows have been imported for milk from Europe and India with a lot of research done in Brazil
Many of those cows cannot tolerate heat so for them our weather is bad however some breeds like Girolando were created in Brazil by crossing the Gyr from India which is heat tolerant with the Holstein a high milk producer from Europe

So when you say weather is better I ask for what ? The needs of a camel are different from a polar bear

I high yield milk cows will do better in Kenya than Nigeria and maybe that is why we are going t9 buy from them

But I think we should be looking at the Girolando instead

This is the issue i have with the people who manage our parastatals... I believe this your knowledge cannot be that hidden....so it should drive the policies such as these. I agree with you about kenya being generally more cold than most of Nigeria.. except maybe jos...and as such good for milk cows. One wld think that those in charge of this matter wld hv learnt from that and taken a wiser option instead.

Make dem quickly let them knack our female cows. 50 is good but not enough for a Nigeria population. We need like 10,000.

I completely agree with you about our weather being akin to Brazil and India... hopefully we'll be able to collaborate more going forward. Especially with this presidential visit.
