The way you keep hearing about large money donations to female footballers and basketballers, you wonder why this money has not spread to those who really need it. These girls have done well for their country and careers but overrewarding them and making them feel like superheroes is not fair to those in other fields of life sacrificing.
This is a country where diasporans are sustaining their families back at home. This is a country where doctors and nurses are running away from for greener pastures and the government cannot pay them good to sustain them. These are the life-savers but the entertainers who people don't even know are being overpaid. At this moment, many will be wishing Super Eagles don't win the AFCON so the FG doesn't use them as another window for lavish spending.

Sincerely, I don't know of this. The governor should make amends on that. We must always make our leaders accountable but not at the detriment of those that made the country proud as I read with some persons disparaging the gifts and recognitions given to them. A simple message to all of them, let's love our country irrespective of any government domiciled there. You can hate the government which is no problem, but not your dear country.

Federal government rewarded them with about N70,000 each and streets named after them then when the players returned to their respective states, the host governors received and welcomed those players from their states and as expected appreciate them with gifts.

Shehu Shagari rewarded the then Green Eagles with houses, 504 saloon cars and cash. Not sure sure if the governors did the same but players were well received in their respective states.

Imo state governor only received players from imo state and rewarded and motivated them. There is nothing wrong in doing that.
