It is the Chinese version, most likely he bought it from open market, or road side phone sellers, that's the reason he can't be specific with the specs

It's actually 4gb/128gb. I checked with an app to get the exact information. It also runs whatsapp perfectly and it's original in terms of cpu. See attached.

For all those saying that whatsapp has issues on this phone, this is not true as whatsapp works very well on it.
