Peter Obi claims that If Service is the motive, turning the tide in Four Years is POssible, and a sincere leader can achieve much in 48 months.

Presidential hopeful Peter Obi has fiercely defended his pledge to serve only one four-year term if elected in 2027. The Labour Party candidate, who ran in the 2023 elections, addressed critics on X, dismissing claims that his vow is a desperate grab for power or an unrealistic promise.

Instead, Obi insists his commitment comes from a deep desire to rebuild and make Nigeria great again, and not personal ambition.

“I still find it baffling that my decision to do a term of four years, if given the mandate to rule this country, is generating so much agitation,” Obi wrote. “By this feeling, we are doubting the fact that a sincere leader can achieve much in 48 months.”

His words strike a chord with supporters who see his promise as a refreshing departure from the status quo, while skeptics question whether four years is enough to tackle Nigeria’s deep-rooted challenges.

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, pushed back against accusations of desperation. “I have never been desperate in the pursuit of power, or anything else, for that matter,” he stated firmly.

He outlined behaviors he believes define desperate politicians aggressive rhetoric, defensiveness, unfulfillable promises, personal attacks, or flip-flopping on policies and declared that none apply to him. https://iexclusivenews.com.ng/peter-obi-defends-one-term-pledge-2027/

That's not true. One term is only enough to set Nigeria on the pathway to greatness and the successor will continue from there.

Peter Obi made more impact in Anambra State than Tinubu did in Lagos State. Tinubu's best legacies were leaving a plan behind, making Lagos the headquarters of street gangs/thugs and caging his successors.
