When Will Peter Obi Raise His Voice On SE Drug Trafficking Epidemic? by Reflect7(op):
Why is Peter Obi silent about the drug trafficking epidemic in the South East?

He talks a lot about Bangladesh, Indonesia and all these places.

Is he aware that those places are teeming with prisoners from his state, convicted for trafficking hard drugs?

When will he call for a South East Conference on Drug Trafficking?

This issue must be addressed not just by Obi, but ALL Igbo political and traditional leaders.

They are silent accomplices in this scandal.

We cannot have the indigenes of one state drag the entire nation’s name through the mud internationally due to their sheer greed for money.

Anambra is not a poor state. They are not Sokoto or Adamawa. They have no reason to be into this nefarious activity.

Yes, this is critical. Tinubu should also instruct the leaders from the South West to start public enlightenment campaigns on ritual killings.

No. Start with the fact that ALL the news today, 2025, is about Anambra indigenes being arrested daily, tried and jailed for drug trafficking in India, South Africa, Indonesia, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Malaysia.

Why are you people doing this?

Why are you ruining the lives of kids around the world out of greed for money?

Governor Soludo already did. Infact if not for hypocrisy Governor Soludo said without mincing words exactly the same thing Abike Dabiri said, while his people didn't call for his head.

Have you ever seen any Yoruba man justifying ritual killings in South West or give excuse on their behalf.

We don't harbor criminals in SW, that's what made the difference

Peter Obi is not a regional leader or an ethnic jingoist. He is a Nigerian leader who is campaigning to restore Nigeria and Nigerians to a decent life going forward.

If he can be responding to happenings outside his region, why is he finding it hard to respond to the issues affecting his own region?

Had that boy Fish Magnet was to be from other regions, Peter Obi would have responded so fast but up till today, he never said peem about it

Sorry, but that comes under general crimes committed in the country, from kidnapping to murder, banditry etc.

The drug trafficking has an International dimension, which puts it on a very different level.

Because it means that because of the actions of Anambra people there, I cannot visit South Africa as a Nigerian without being considered a drug trafficker. Same as places like India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Ghana, etc.

You besmirch the country’s reputation, and you need to stop, if morality is not enough to stop you.

Criminal activities in Nigeria are not confined to any one tribe or religion, they are perpetrated by individuals from all backgrounds.

Unfortunately, some individuals from the South-West have contributed significantly to damaging Nigeria’s reputation abroad, including Western countries. Crimes such as fraud, drug trafficking, and human trafficking have led to increased scrutiny and distrust toward Nigerian passport holders.

A notable example is the current occupant of Aso Rock, whose international reception, or lack thereof, raises serious questions. One must ask, why has the White House consistently excluded him from its invitation list?.

Drugs trafficking is not peculiar to only Igbos, other tribes too are always involves. The only difference is that, Yorubas carry their drugs to less strict drug regulation western countries in collaboration with highly connected catels, while Igbo are found of taking theirs to less developed strict drug regulation countries in Asia/central America with little or no highly connected catels. Hausa takes their to majoriy Arab countries with little or no drug regulation during pilgrimage.

Besides, Igbos are fearless and risk takers, while a typical Yoruba drug trafficker might be afraid of going or deliver to a particular country, Igbo might not think twice to do so due to their fearless nature. Another thing I observe is, Yoruba or Hausa drug trafficker would rather do it alone and take care of people around him but their Igbo counterpart would rather be stingy and tell his people to risk their lives too like him. That make alot of them desperate to be rich like their brother withiout being equipped very well before embacking on the mission.

In conclusion, whoever got caught is always call a theif, that igbos are always caught in the act due to their unprocessed risk taking does not mean other tribes are not guilty as well.

No!…..All the news isn’t about ‘being arrested for whatever’! That’s the narrative Igbo hating bigots (of which there are quite a few on this forum) have chosen to place on the front burner and give the oxygen of publicity! How else would someone know of any Nigerian arrested for a drug offence in India, Malaysia, etc, unless they were actively searching for the news, or unless they have a history of searching for such news leading to similar news reports popping up as ‘recommended to watch based on your past search history’!? Care to check how many Nigerians are arrested for crimes in Saudi Arabia and their ethnicity!?

Of all the Igbo, it’s those from Anambra that travel the most so it stands to reason that for certain countries where majority of the Nigerians there are of Igbo ethnicity, that a preponderance of both the exemplary and achieving ones as well as the bad criminal-minded ones will be from Anambra!
