BREAKING: FG begins tour of Kaduna textile hubs (United Nigerian Textiles Limited (UNTL) and Chellco Industries) to revive cotton, garment sector. The tour was led by the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, John Enoh, who was also accompanied by the MD of Bank of Industry, Dr. Olasupo Olusi.

During the tour, the Emir of Kano and Chairman of UNTL, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, decried the shutdown of the once-thriving factory in 2022, citing economic difficulties despite its track record of employing over 10,000 people across the value chain.

While touring Chellco Industries, one of the few resilient textile companies still operational since 1980, Enoh praised the company’s management for its perseverance through decades of economic challenges, noting that Chellco currently employs over 290 workers and remains a vital contributor to the local economy.

Good initiative. Have patience with Mr. President, he is gradually fixing things up. After the storm comes sunshine, no good times without bad times. I have never had a strong belief in any Nigerian leader like I do with Tinubu. Only be patient and give him your support.

Keep on dreaming, don't wake up. Tinubu already promised to revive the textile industry and textile Mills in the north. Everything Tinubu is doing are captured in his manifestos during campaign. The AKK pipeline is the major factor that will kickstart the textile mills in the North and already 70% complete. As at February, Govt reiterated its commitments to reviving the textile industry.
