if you have 600k today in lagos, you can not get an apartment of 500k. its crazy. the extra charges is purely scam. daylight robbery house rent 500k agreement 100k commission 100k damages 100k everything 800k. and some go as high as 150k each for agreement and commission. and this is just room and palour. the is exactly what the government should look into. extra charge should not be up to 20% of the rent. what will seeing in lagos is 60% 70%. its bad, its extortion |

akpumping7720:this is not about any state government sitting up. lagos is the only state in nigeria that has a seaport in a country heavily reliant on importation, hence most buisiness/industries will choose to situate in lagos/ogun state environs close to lagos due to nearness of raw materials and products imported. there are about 2 or 3 other states in the south south that is capable of having a seaport but due to political reasons it will not happen because it weakens the power of the southwest region which is heavily reliant on the city of lagos and strengthens the autonomy of the south south which is already the breadwinner of the country as is. so forget it bro, there's nothing special about lagos governors/leadership, they simply enjoy a unique privilege, due to that SEAPORT mainly plus being the first capital of the country, hence many industries established there already |

How will house rent not keep increasing when some people have emptied their entire villages into Lagos, and many others are still on their way as we speak to celebrate new yam festival here since the demons that are chasing them away from their ancestral land are still active?! |

henrixx:SE and SS have 4 seaports which is more than anywhere in Nigeria.. There's a seaport in Rivers state called "port harcourt". There are also: Calabar port Onne port Warri port.. the only thing Lagos and the SW has over other regions is the spending power which means the buyers and consumers of most products in Nigeria is the SW.. A business person whose market is the SW will not import from the ports in the SE/SS regions then transport the goods to the SW to sell because that is waste of funds and will destroy the business before it starts.. you have never started or owned a business in your life so you don't understand how businesses work and make profits. |

alamscolo:My church wanted to renovate its roof because the old roof was leaking. They started work and Lagos people came and stopped them, I can tell you not by hearsay, but because i have info on every dime spent, that the church used 19m to settle all the Lagos ministry and people constantly coming for one payment or another. Lagos is truly a crime scene. |

After living and working in the city for over 10 years. I now prefer taking jobs outside then return to my family at intervals. Cost of living due to population influx along with multiple taxation makes it expensive. The traffic experience is torturous. |

I will always push for remapping of what is known as Lagos state to include two or three more LGAs from current Ogun state. Good road access to old Lagos and good planning is all thats needed. |

codemaniacs:Lol Bros, if you want complete reign over who migrates to Lagos, push for the disintegration of Nigeria. Moreover, should the bold be implemented, Lagos won't be what it's today. Check all major metropolitan cities, they're diverse and accept investments from non-citizens/outsiders/non-indigenes. But hey, if you want to continue on the path of tribalism, you're free to, but do the first line I stated. |

anonimi:You re taking this out of context, I am not against people going to a particular state to settle down, all am saying is that the national resources should be shared in such a way that encourages other regions to thrive, its not always about the money but the commitment. Little things like roads, security will go a long way. |

Gerrard59:No need to push for dis-integration of Nigeria... Once non-Yorubas realizes and makes peace with the fact that they are not getting jobs because they are non-Yorubas then they will automatically leave.. should the bolded be implemented then Lagos will be more than what it is today... you don't realize that people leaving their states to move to Lagos is actually brain-drain within Nigeria and it keeps those states under-developed because the people that are meant to call out those governors have moved to Lagos and are instead calling out Lagos government... states like Delta, Rivers, Edo, Akwa-ibom, Bayelsa, Cross-River e.t.c should be much more developed than Lagos state but their people have moved to Lagos.. There is no tribalism in Nigeria.. most Nigerians especially southern Nigerians shout "tribalism" because they are not living in their ethnic region and want to manipulate the system of the region they are living in to favour them. |

codemaniacs:my point is about more land for Lagos state to rapidly urbanize an accomodate its growing numbers in a less chaotic fashion and not about Ogun state sitting up. The lagoa that was capital is about 13 times smaller than current Lagos. If it has been done before, it can be done once more to solve problems. Tell that to you father and mother and see what they do or say to your oblongata. |

CodeTemplarr:my point is that Oyo state is bigger than Ogun state but Oyo has better road network than Ogun state.. Lagos is okay the way it is.. Deport yourself back to your father and mother state so that you can have peace of mind.. |

Saviola86:I dont know the rates in Mushin/Agege axis but here in Osapa/ IgboEfon area, 1bdr flat is around 2.5 - 3m while 1 room self-contain is around 1.5-1.8m. 4/5 bdrm duplexes are being rented at around 8-10m yearly. Most folks who find it difficult to cope with the increasing rates are moving towards Lakowe/ Eleko axis |

codemaniacs:Calabar Port is largely moribound. It's only used for exports when there is delay at Lagos ports. Onne port is "working". However, it's not all goods that are allowed entry via the port. I have no idea about Port-harcourt port. Bomadi port in Warri isn't working. It's worse than its Calabar counterpart. Yes, it makes sense to cite offices, factories and businesses in Lagos because of the population, but the favouritism towards its ports over others contributed to the population increment. |
