Hi guys, Mother in law just got her passport request for visit visa. Not sure where we’re to send the passport to. Can she send to Kenya or can she drop off at Lagos VFS? Also, how fast would she get it back? Thanks. |

Please, I have a question, if I submit my application form, should I start spending the money I used as my proof of funds or I should leave it in my account until decision is made? |

Hi, I’m currently based in the UK on a Skilled Worker visa, and my fiancée is in Nigeria. I recently got a Canadian visit visa approved and have a stable job. Now, I’m considering applying for a Canadian visit visa for her. She’s employed in Nigeria and can obtain letters to support her employment status, which we intend to use as her primary proof of strong ties to her home country. However, I would like to act as her financial sponsor, meaning I’ll be submitting my UK bank statements as part of the application. We’re planning to have our traditional introduction soon, and I can provide supporting documents such as pictures and chat history to demonstrate the genuineness of our relationship. Could you advise how feasible this sponsorship approach and application is, and whether using a UK-based financial sponsor might affect her chances? She doesn’t have any travel history. |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by House34: 8:04am On Aug 02, 2025 |
Nger88:Why not start by inviting your fiancée to the UK where you live? Because I doubt any visa officer will believe your approach of sponsoring your fiancée not your wife to another country, especially when you haven’t even invited her to the UK where you actually reside. This whole arrangement is built on shallow ground, and it will not stand. All those photos and chat histories you're gathering should be directed to the UK authorities when you apply for a UK visa for her not used to convince Canada. You're skipping steps, and it won’t hold up under scrutiny. |

For airlines that do not need transit visa, you can consider Air france, KLM, Lufthansa, Qatar airways, Ethiopia amongst others. Notable tourist attractions in Toronto includes CN tower, Niagara falls, Eaton centre, Nathan square, Ontario art gallery as well as many other parks. It's an exciting tourist location and i'm sure you will enjoy your stay. For winnipeg, i can't really say as i've not visited the city before. All the best uchee: |

Hello everyone, Please I have some questions to ask. and I will appreciate it if i can be guided. last year, we were denied and the reason i quote ( • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/ section-179.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors: • Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable). • The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application. This application was done by an agent, but now I would like to apply myself. I recently just got my 5years UK visa, I have previously been issued a 6 months Schengen visa from Spain and a 6 month visa from France twice all with my family. I can remember I ask this agent why not use my salary account and business account, he said no that i should just put 22m on another personal account that is active which i did. at the end the applications was refused. I'm self-employed with a take home monthly salary of 623,356 after tax. as well as having enough in my business account. Please, I need advice on how to go about a new application, can i use my salary account with about 9m balance and my business account with about 80m balance for this new application? Please i need a guided pass for this new application, what and what do you guys think i can do? Also, I have gotting my login access to IRCC to do my it myself this time. please i need a guide and advice to do myself. can i transfer some money to my salary account with a remark and reason ?? or can i use the current balance with business account.? please make una help |

atm0147:For your monthly income, I would say that is insufficient to convince a Canadian visa officer. Consider what that amounts to in CAD. Also, for the deposit into your account, you can use narrations such as leave allowance and vacation savings if you can explain that in your payslip. Your balance of N9m may also not scale through for a Canadian visa of today. Kindly work on your financial proofs. |

Nger88:People have given good advice..apply for uk visa for her. That's where you reside because it's coming across as sus The only way it may work is if your trip to Canada is honeymoon. Then you'd have provide firm evidence of your marriage plans and dates plus venue, court registration etc |

Good day, my good people, please I will really need help,my younger sister recently applied for a Canada visitors visa. And the reason for the refusal was so shocking. She has never being to Canada before. Though she applied for Canada visitors visa last year, through an agent. She was refused on the ground that her financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel, she had a closing balance of 15m last year. This year 2025 in July she decided to reapply by her self, without the assistance of an agent. But the reason for the refusal is very strange. It says Reasons for the refusal of your application To help you understand why your application was refused, below are the Officer Decision Notes (ODN) specific to your application as they are displayed in IRCC’s system. These notes were entered by the officer who assessed and made the final decision on your application. • The applicant is associated with a file indicating an unpaid debt to the Crown. Applicant was advised to make payment prior to submitting a new application. Application refused. We don't know how this debt came about. We have asked the travel agent who did the first application about an outstanding fees, that he did not pay,he said he could not remember, not paying any fees. That he paid the visa fee and biometrics. So please we need an advice. |

dantajay:I really hate to ask this, but is the agent a licensed Canadian immigration consultant, registered with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC), which is authorized by the Canadian government and works with IRCC? https://register.college-ic.ca/ |

atm0147:Here are my thoughts: • Review the information the agent submitted on your behalf in the initial application. This would help you fully appreciate the loopholes in what the agent declared on your behalf and convince the visa officer that your situation has changed and improved. • Regarding Proof of funds, a Salary account is a better document to submit. This would demonstrate that you are fully working and receiving compensation and benefits. The question to satisfy yourself is whether you have built enough savings reflected in your account balance for the trip. Note that the visa officer would access funds available for your stay. Analyse total cost for duration of stay in Canadian dollars. Then convert to naira and see if your savings adequately cover these costs. • Try to get a reference letter from your company's HR department proving you are a current and employed staff member. Most big companies have a template for embassy purposes. Attach your payslip from the last 3 to 6 months (including the most recent salary) and any proof of leave approval, which should help with home ties. • Business accounts and copies of incorporation documents can be used more for home ties to show you have a life in Nigeria and a functioning business aside from your 8-5 job. The VO would use his discretion if they should access you more favourably on Proof of funds. • Avoid moving funds too much, as that may trigger the officer. Instead, allow the accounts to grow naturally, but build your savings and let that stay in the Salary account. • Regarding the purpose of your visit, YouTube is your friend. People drop lots of content. Search for tourist sites in your intended province and use that to your advantage. • Give some time before you apply again. I advise you to plan the UK trip for now since you have the visa and leave on time to return to Nigeria. That would build your integrity with immigration regarding travel history and may speak well for you in the background when these countries share information. • Finally, it's not compulsory, but I would suggest a one—or two-page letter introducing yourself to the officer and explaining how your situation has changed and improved since you won't be there to defend yourself. This document summarises your application and states where the officer can find specific documents. Make it easy for them to review. Convince yourself that the application is well-explained and nothing seems confusing before you click the "Submit Application button." All the best. |

dantajay:The payment method used to pay for your sister's visa fees and biometrics during her last visa application has been charged back. Please contact IRCC to discuss the situation with them. It's important to explain your circumstances and ensure that you settle the debt to the crown.if not any application she keeps making to Canada will never be approved and she may face a ban. Hold that agent very well. If they insist, let them print out the statement of account for that card from the date it was used till the present date. |

Please could you shed more light on this issue, when am filling the canada tourist visa , i came across a question that stated ''do you have job in recent country you live'' i cannot say no or yes neither own a business. The reason was that I returned to Nigeria july 2025, since then I have not done any job, because I have no intention to stay long in Nigeria due to the situation of the country. However, my work history for almost 3 years is in the UK, i have my offer letter and payslip to prove that. i left the UK due to my right to work elapsed. currently, i live in nigeria, almost a month now in nigeria. I am applying for a Canadian tourist visa now without a job or own a business to prove as I am living and applying from nigeria. I've prepared all necessary documents for the application, i got stuck when I was filling the form in the stage ''Do you have a job in the country where you currently live? please what can i do to scale through this. |

Adebayo82:IRCC asks this to evaluate your ties to your current country of residence (Nigeria) What You Can Do 1. Answer the Question Honestly Since you don’t currently have a job or business in Nigeria, you should answer “No” to that question. Do not say "Yes" or misrepresent anything—IRCC verifies facts. But just answering “No” doesn’t mean an automatic refusal. It just means you have to compensate by strengthening other parts of your application. eg Bank statements showing strong personal savings UK employment history (offer letter, reference letter, payslips) Travel history, if you’ve visited other countries and returned Family ties in Nigeria (parents, siblings, spouse/kids, if applicable) Intent to return — explain your next steps after visiting Canada 2. Explain the Situation in a Letter of Explanation (LOE) Prepare a short, well-written Letter of Explanation to upload under “Optional Documents” or wherever you see “Letter of Purpose/Explanation.” In it, mention: That you lived and worked in the UK for the past 3 years (with proof like offer letters, payslips, etc.). You recently returned to Nigeria in July 2025, but do not plan to stay long-term, hence have not sought employment. Be honest You’re currently in between jobs but have strong travel intent, financial means, and reason to return |

Adebayo82:Your answer is No. But to secure that visa will be extremely hard. You just returned from UK, just a month in Nigeria your already trying to secure a Canadian visit visa for what purpose? Sir just chill and get something doing or rather visit some other countries first to show them you are not a flight risk to Canada. |

Good day everyone, My aunt received her Canadian visitor visa approval in December 2024. However, last week, she was denied boarding her flight to Canada. She was advised to contact the embassy to find out the reason. Has anyone here experienced a similar situation? If so, how was it resolved? Thank you in advance for your help. |
