1). 17.55 km Access Road Linking Second Niger Bridge (Anambra Side)

A concrete expressway connecting the monumental Second Niger Bridge to major arterial roads in Anambra.

This project removes the bottleneck around Onitsha and opens up commercial access for the region.

2). Enugu–Onitsha Expressway (A6 Corridor)

107 km highway under full-scale reconstruction through MTN’s Tax Credit Scheme.

As of March 2025, 50–70% completed.

Expected delivery: May 10, 2026 (handled by RCC Nigeria Ltd).

Includes rehabilitation of feeder roads:

Ozalla–Akpugo–Onitsha

Nenwe–Nmaku

9th Mile–Orokam

Over 60 federal roads are being fixed across Enugu and surrounding states, executed by Arab Contractors, CGC, RCC, IDC, Setraco, etc.

[b]3). Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway (Section II: Umuahia–Aba)[/b]

56 km stretch currently undergoing total rehabilitation.

Earthworks largely done as of April 2025, with just 2 km remaining and 4 km asphalt finishing.

A key North–South commercial artery now being fully restored.

4). Other Major Federal Road Projects

Extensive work ongoing across the region:

Ihiala–Orlu

Oba–Nnewi–Okigwe

Owerri–Umuahia

Nsukka–Obollo‑Ikem

Bende–Ohafia–Arochukwu

Abakaliki–Afikpo

5). Eastern Railway Revival — $3 Billion Allocation

Under President Tinubu, the long-abandoned Port Harcourt–Enugu–Maiduguri Railway has received a $3 billion allocation under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

When complete, this will:

Connect Aba and Onitsha directly to the North

Unlock ₦50 billion annually in trade and logistics value

Modernize transport for millions of Southeasterners and traders

For decades, this vital corridor was neglected — now it’s being revived.

Unfortunately, our people choose tribe and sentiments over development.
Even if Tinubu turns the entire SE into a place more beautiful than Dubai, they will still not like him. They will prefer a Peter Obi as President who will do nothing for anyone in 8 years and have the bragging right that an igbo man is the President, than someone who will really develop our region.

For 6 years under GEJ a president the South-East voted for en masse none of this happened. Not one road of this scale. Not one railway. Not one billion-naira intervention of this kind. And yet, loyalty was unquestioned.

Go and sit down and stop and talking without reasoning properly. If you have allowed politicians to divide your country along ethnic lines, what now is your business if Ebonyi state chooses to go with Biafra or not? Or do the people of Ebonyi state share the same language or cultural affinity with your people? Are you the one to tell the people of the SE what’s happening with projects in the region? What do you know about their roads, past and present? Do you have an idea about the roads mentioned by Umahi? When you have never visited - neither will you ever visit the SE - how can you feel the pain that the people feel about the condition of their roads?

PDP spent 16 years and nothing was achieved, going by your words. Do you need to be reminded that APC is going to the 11th year in power? Do you want to be reminded that Umahi was part of the PDP 16 years? Do you want be reminded that APC consists of past PDP members, who were there for the 16 years talked about? What’s the difference so far?
