As part of activities marking the 20th anniversary and 14th convocation ceremony of Al-Hikmah University, Ahmad Akande Temitope, the creative mind and CEO behind HMDSHOTS, was honored with the Outstanding Alumni Award, recognizing him as one of the top 20 alumni who have made remarkable contributions in their fields and communities.

The grand event, held on January 6, 2025, at the university’s main campus in Adeta, Ilorin, brought together dignitaries, alumni, and students in celebration of two decades of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and national impact. The award was part of the high point of the ceremony, shining a spotlight on distinguished graduates who have embodied the university's core values beyond the classroom.

Ahmad, a Mass Communication graduate of Al-Hikmah University, has grown to become one of the most sought-after cinematographers in Kwara State and beyond. Through his brand, HMDSHOTS, he has carved a niche in the Nigerian visual storytelling space documenting weddings, cultural events, and impactful narratives with cinematic brilliance.

Speaking after receiving the award, Ahmad reflected on his journey from student life to entrepreneurship. "Being recognized by the same institution that molded me is deeply humbling. Al-Hikmah gave me the foundation, and this award encourages me to keep building on it," he said.

In addition to being an accomplished creative entrepreneur, Ahmad is also the co-founder of BROWNFLAMES 247, one of the top-rated student-oriented restaurants in Ilorin, further demonstrating his versatility and business acumen.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Noah Yusuf, emphasized the significance of the award, describing the 20 alumni selected as "torchbearers of Al-Hikmah’s vision" and urging them to support the university’s development through mentorship and philanthropy.

The celebration also featured speeches from notable personalities such as Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State and former Katsina Governor Aminu Masari, who praised the founder, Dr. Abdulraheem Oladimeji, for his foresight and impact on private education in Nigeria.

Ahmad’s recognition reaffirms his commitment to excellence, innovation, and value-driven leadership a true reflection of what Al-Hikmah University represents.
