This is not really news. You have a standard sized plot. In the same compound you did a borehole and a septic tank, sometimes not far from each other. On top of that it rains and the floods carry all sorts of waste into your compound and mixing it all together.

You can't dig a borehole to get natural water in a land that you pay millions if not billions to acquire.

And where is the pipe-borne water that you have provided? What alternative have you provided?
Water board and the ministry is there doing nothing to provide this basic amenity (same story in other states though except for a few parts in the North).
As a Nigerian, you provide your own water, electricity, security, schools and even construct your streets.

People in that axis arguably pay the most in individual income taxes in Lagos. So what is the LASG using their tax money to do? The Lekki Epe expressway has lots of large holes in the road. Flood drainage is a serious issue. The Agungi axis road where my friend stays is always flooded all through the year even during dry season. The 2 nearby canals don't seem to be working. Overgrown with weeds and not even cleared or plastered with concrete. Or is it because the entire Lekki-Aja axis did not vote for the governor last election? What is going on and when will Nigerians say enough is enough?

Even the flood you see on the streets is diluted shit water. I always wow at people who wade through the water. My friends very rich next door neighbour pumps his sewage directly into the gutters, when it rains, it gets distributed all over the neighbourhood.

No government inspection
No town planning compliance team
No public health officials

I don't think he's correct. At the dept of borehole, all germs should have been sifted by percolation and leaching. The only problem I think borehole can have is that of elements of the rock's encountered and technical faults if the surface run off leaks in the pipes.

Anyway, the government should provide an alternative

Most “boreholes” are actually deep wells. Most cannot afford the cost of a proper borehole. most developers of small housing units especially in the Lekki axis will cut costs so in that respect the commissioner knows what he is saying.
