Gerrard59:Cross-River state government can make the Calabar port operational if they want to... Onne port is working so if they want other goods to be allowed they should protest and hold the Rivers state government accountable. Port harcourt port the 2nd port in Rivers state can also be made operational especially since Rivers state is an oil producing state. Warri port can also be operational since Delta state is also an oil producing state and can afford to do it.. but you guys don't want to hold your state goverments accountable because you guys can easily relocate to the SW instead of putting pressure on your state governor and senators.. you non-Yorubas are in the SW due to Yoruba buying and spending power and not because of the lies called favoritism.. there is nothing forcing non-Yorubas to stay in Lagos except an imaginary lie that Lagos state is favored... |

shegzhkn:I spent more than 27 years in Lagos, i havent felt a high level of insecurity hanging around locals in my life as i am witnessing here. I almost got framed up after a constant robbery of my flat and immediately i moved out of the apartment, the wicked Anglican vicar ordered my arrest and shielded the guy i complained about that visits his friends and peep my window whenever i am asleep and the window is open just because he had beef with me that i pumped water without his knowledge and i claim right again. It was due to my high educational status and connection, the dpo told me in secrecy after my release that he actually paid them to torture me till bear false witness against myself while the culprit is walking free. |

codemaniacs:People hustle and make money for themselves in lagos and you call it Yoruba people money ? Which money exactly ? From where ? Do you feed anyone in lagos ? Do you pay their bills ? So why calling it Yoruba people money abi thief dey your eye ? Lagos was the capital for almost 7 decades. FG developed lagos alongside with oil money gotten from Niger Delta and enterprising spirit of Nigerians doing business and paying their tax to the lagos state government. If you are tired of seeing non-yoruba in lagos. Then tell tinubu your brother to divide Nigeria so that everyone will answer their Father name. Or better still, Tell tinubu to decentralized the Seaport and Airport monopoly that lagos have so that importer can import and export goods in ph, warri, Calabar, Uyo seaport without coming to lagos. Tell tinubu to make all the Seaport in Nigeria equal. Lagos is not the only Coastal city in Nigeria. Tell tinubu to decentralized the airport monopoly that lagos and Abuja have so that other states can receive international flights. So that I can travel to America or UK without going to Lagos or Abuja. If tinubu do these things I mentioned. Millions of people will leave Lagos. But if you don't want to see any non Yoruba at all in lagos. Then push for division of Nigeria. Because you can't be telling non Yoruba to leave lagos when Nigeria is still a One. Nobody will listen to you because you can't eat your cake and have it. |

anonimi:When Jagaban increased Lagos' revenue from 600million to billions of naira from 1999. What were other other governors doing then? SS states were receiving same or more allocations than Lagos state plus 13% plus royalties. What did SS states do with all these huge revenues. In terms of population; Lagos and other SW states are friendly and accommodating; hence the environment is conducive for business. Do you expect people to do business in hostile environment? The port in Lagos is a blessing no doubt but if the managers of Lagos are squanders like other state managers, Lagos state will not be where it is now. Is this the first time Abuja will have a minister? Look at the infrastructures Wike is putting in place which in turn is attracting investments. Now Abuja has surpassed Lagos on capital importation recently. Governors should think outside the box and you citizens that you are supposed to hold them accountable should stop making excuses for them because Lagos was the former FCT bla bla bla. |

stanluiz:like I told Gerard59 No need to push for dis-integration of Nigeria... Once non-Yorubas realizes and makes peace with the fact that they are not getting jobs because they are non-Yorubas then they will automatically leave.. should the bolded be implemented then Lagos will be more than what it is today... you don't realize that people leaving their states to move to Lagos is actually brain-drain within Nigeria and it keeps those states under-developed because the people that are meant to call out those governors have moved to Lagos and are instead calling out Lagos government... states like Delta, Rivers, Edo, Akwa-ibom, Bayelsa, Cross-River e.t.c should be much more developed than Lagos state but their people have moved to Lagos.. There is no tribalism in Nigeria.. most Nigerians especially southern Nigerians shout "tribalism" because they are not living in their ethnic region and want to manipulate the system of the region they are living in to favour them. SE and SS have 4 seaports which is more than anywhere in Nigeria.. There's a seaport in Rivers state called "port harcourt". There are also: Calabar port Onne port Warri port.. the only thing Lagos and the SW has over other regions is the spending power which means the buyers and consumers of most products in Nigeria is the SW.. A business person whose market is the SW will not import from the ports in the SE/SS regions then transport the goods to the SW to sell because that is waste of funds and will destroy the business before it starts.. you have never started or owned a business in your life so you don't understand how businesses work and make profits |

codemaniacs:Your first paragraph amaze me ![]() Are you going to tell the private sector especially companies and multinational companies owned by non Yorubas and foreigner who and whom not to employ ? Not everyone working in lagos is doing white collar jobs. Most have their own enterprise and business. So you first paragraph is Dead on Arrival. It won't work. Have you told you that all the Airport and Seaport in Nigeria are not equal. Lagos ports monopolize import and export. They are certain good you can't import from sea ports In SS. Goods like Electrical, automobile, food, medicine, pahrmacutical, auto parts etc. You only import it through Lagos Seaport before of FG policies on seaport which give lagos state edge over other states. The same applies with airport. You can't receive international flights from UK, America, Europe , China to Enugu, owerri, ph airport etc. It is only lagos and Abuja has the capacity to receive international flight. That the reason lagos and Abuja attract most of foreign investors. Why because of Seaport and Airport monopoly gave to them by FG. So, if you want to decongest lagos, is very simple. FG should decentralized all the Seaport and Airport so that people in other regions can import and export goods in their coastal cities and also travel abroad without coming to lagos and Abuja. |

anonimi:Thanks for your response. I read the news you posted and below is an excerpt from the article: "The NUT-FCT accused the area councils of reneging on previous agreements to implement the national minimum wage and pay associated allowances." It's all about agreements which predate Wike's appointment as FCT minister. Infact, one of the officials said Wike had to intervened in late 2024 for them to call off the strike before they embarked on another one. |

stanluiz:All those states needs is permission and authorization from the FG.. Lagos state government is building a new Lekki seaport and a Lekki new airport. Dangote wants to build a new seaport in Ogun state and all he needed was permission and authorization from the FG.. no one is stopping any state from building new international airports or seaports... stop making excuses for those states and your own state governors... hold them accountable.. |

I think exorbitant rents is a way lagos state govt is using to discourage people from migrating to lagos if not they would have put a policy to curb landlords from unreasonable hikes |
